I posted these a while back, Ricko commented how much he appreciated them because they were his birth year.
The mint set in 1942 was unique in that the nickels of that year had 2 different metal compositions due to the war effort.
There is also another unique set in 1942. 1942 mint set with major varieties. This set has some overdates, a double die and a repunched mint mark. With the type 1 and type 2 nickels, this set has 20 coins.
And just for fun, I'll show this coin, another 1942, which Ricko would say it's tarnished:
Even though he didn't prefer my toners over white coins, he nevertheless often complimented my toned coins. This is the whitest coin I could find, in his honor:

Tells me he approves of the reverse, I say hello, it's the obverse for me, says would you consider dipping the obverse? Then tells me ok I admit it's really nice, send it to me, I'll safekeep it for you , I say hell no, you'll dip it when I'm not looking. Lol.
Most people will hate this one, but it is blast white.
@Ricko made an incredible number of posts, and he will be greatly missed. It will be long time before anyone catches his record.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I just came back to visit the forum for the first time in a while, and this is one of the first things I saw. I didn't know him very long and never really had interactions with him, but I appreciated his attitude in every conversation he participated in. He will be missed.
