I was deeply saddened to learn of this in another thread and started this one, for those who might not be aware.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Rick’s family and friends.
Please feel free to share any of your fond memories of @ricko.
I’m adding this link to the other thread, for anyone who would like to read remembrances posted there:

Thank you for making a dedicated post Mark.
@ricko and I shared multiple passions and I considered him a friend. He will be missed dearly.
Ok, now we have two threads...
But that's OK, he's worth it.
Last post July 31st.
Passed away August 1.
A trooper to the end.
Last active on the forum August 8.
Maybe his family logged onto his PC.
Oh, that's terrible! I had no idea he was even ill. I was at his house in March of 2022, and I bought his entire collection of vintage marbles in two afternoons. I paid him very strong money for them, because he had the best of the best and had a great eye for condition too.
Ricko hated color on coins, so it's not surprising he sold me all these awful, colorful marbles. This one is from the Christensen Agate Company (CAC) - he was a big fan of CAC stuff.
R.I.P. Ricko.
As @ChrisH821 posted on another thread:
He was a true legend on this forum and will be greatly missed!
HAPPY COLLECTING
Wow, that is a monumental loss. RIP @ricko , you will be greatly missed.
Wow, never met him but always followed his posts here. He truly will be missed. Thanks for sharing Mark! My condolences go out to his family and friends!!!!!!

Absolutely horrible news.
Prayers for his family and friends.
He was truly one of a kind
I never met him but we shared a few PMs.
I enjoyed his posts, his humor and we had many other commonalities.
He liked Walkers, too!
Thoughts and prayers going out to his family, in this difficult time.
He had such a presence here that the forum will never be the same again.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

The only contact I ever had with Ricko was on this message board. He was knowledgeable and always courteous and I enjoyed reading his posts. My condolences to his family and friends, GS
I'm deeply saddened. RIP @ricko.

Sad... very sad. Not sure what to even write as this seems so sudden. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. While I never met him, we can collectively thank the forum for at least getting to know and appreciate him as the collector he was as well as his thoughts that were shared. He will be missed.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
A deeply sad day for all of us on these boards.

I'm so sorry to hear about this.
What a great guy, never a harsh word....
My sincere condolences to his family !
Really sad to lose a friend but RickO lived life to the hilt, enjoyed himself and did the things which kept him content and happy. I had been meaning to PM him for the last week to get his "Night Train Chili" recipe. My hard-drive crashed a few months ago and apparently took the recipe with it. When I met him several years ago the time went by much too quickly but we laughed quite a lot. RickO was a young soul in a body that had aged, gregarious and full of love.
As I'm sure others will echo, I'll think of him often. May we keep him eternal through our memories of him.
This is very, very bad news. I had no idea he was even sick. We have lost way to many amazing people this year.
Prayers go out to his family and freinds.

Truly sad news
May he rest in peace
RickO was the best of the best and deserves a spot on the PCGS Forum Mount Rushmore.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Horrible news what a fantastic person he was, RIP.
OMG, such bad news, Rick was a stand up guy to the end, a constant on these boards.
Ricko was known for his love of blast white coins, his passion for firearms.....and his post count. I remember when he joined another forum and I posted this:
Like many others, I never met the man but he made everyone feel instantly comfortable and welcome on the forum.
Tim
Cheers RickO. You will be missed.

I am saddened by this news. Ricko was always kind and had many interesting things to say. RIP

RIP Ricko.

I did not imagine that he would not hit 100K posts.
Coulda been this:
He put new folk at ease.
Awful and shocking news! Without a doubt one of the most popular members of these boards ever. Always a gentleman with never a negative comment (except for tarnish and even then a gentleman). I will miss his presence and the many more posts he’ll not be here to make. RIP @ricko ☹️

A very sad loss for the numismatic community!
He really was #1 !
Very sorry to hear this. He was always kind and helpful when saying something about my posts in the metal detecting forum.
Wow, never would have expected this, incredibly sad. I'm honored to have shared this forum with him.
The mods must commemorate him in some way.
Type collector, mainly into Seated. -formerly Ownerofawheatiehorde. Good BST transactions with: mirabela, OKCC, MICHAELDIXON, Gerard
What!!!!!!??????
Oh no.
In the years I've been here, many people have graduated to the big bourse in the sky, but this one..... wow. I simply can't imagine this place without him. Just can't.
Rest in blast-white peace, brother!
Never met him but he was like a mentor to me. I always read his post no matter what the topic is - as soon as I saw @ricko posted something I will click and read. RIP @ricko and condolence to the family.
Hate to hear this. My condolences to his family.
Very sad news. RickO was a legend on the Forum. His comments were always insightful and polite. My condolences to his family and friends.
An authorized PCGS dealer, and a contributor to the Red Book.
Oh no! Very sad.
Five years ago I posted a photo of a Churchill crown that I had counterstamped with a vintage US Navy punch.
Ricko PMed me to say he'd be interested in it if ever decided to sell. It had some sentimental value to him since he was in the Navy and he also admired Winston Churchill.
I was happy to send it to him for free, and I was honored that he included it in his collection of challenge coins.
One of the great contributors here, he will be missed.
Very sad to hear this, he seemed like a very nice guy. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
It has occurred to me over the years that various members play certain roles here on the forum.
RickO was, among other things, a model of civility and supportiveness.

Well that is terrible news. May @ricko rest in peace. We have lost a great forum member and contributor.

Honestly thought he was Canadian 😂🤣.
Never had the pleasure of meeting him but I feel like a lost a great friend. 😣😥
I will miss him dearly. He was one of the good ones.....😎
We'll miss you Rick. This forum will never be the same. I was always so impressed how you stood your ground on what you believed in. Your constant presence on these boards will be truly missed.
I would have loved to have read your 100,000th post.
Condolences to your family. Rest in peace RickO.
Dave
That is awful news. I always enjoyed his posts and his dedication to the forum and numismatics. He will be very missed here on the forums. RIP RickO
For a fellow who I've never met I actually feel like I've lost a brother. It would be a great gesture from this board to somehow fast-forward RickO's post count to the elusive '100,000' club and memorialize it.
RickO, you were a gentleman and a man of honor serving our country, may you rest in peace.
