    Beautiful car!

So I have a question, is the car 100% original?

The reason I ask is I was randomly grabbing a coffee one day and this guy pulled up in a gorgeous 1950's car and I commented how nice it was and asked him the year, he said 1957 then I said I couldn't believe how nice it was for such an old car.

He explained that it was a complete overhaul and literally the only original part was the odometer lol.

I don't know how much these cars are restored or how much they are allowed to be to be considered vintage, Beautiful car and congratulations just the same!

Wow! Absolutely beautiful... I used to work on a site called Epinions. I rated reviews for the auto transport companies among other H&G related products. I'd be a nervous wreck until it was delivered and safe in my garage.

I'd say Enjoy! Something tells me I don't have to say that... I know you will.

My dad and I did a restoration on a 1969 Chevy Caprice that took over 5 years and finished 3 or 4 years ago. We'd had it since 1991. It was all taken completely apart, rebuilt, re-chromed and repainted. The only things on there that aren't original is the A/C, electronic distributor, radio and disc brakes. We did reupholster the seats but it was done with vintage/period fabric. Everything else is original.

I don't know what everyone else does though.

Now you're talking my main hobby! Congrats on the win. Enjoy the crowds at the car shows and enjoy the car. Trace the history and see who first ordered your new baby.

    I'll drink to that!

    Wow!

    Congratulations!

I was gonna ask if it was a fuelie but the later post tells. If original, does it classify as a "survivor?"

Wow, that's a beautiful Vette! My parents had a 75 Stingray when I was in high school, sold it after only a few years and have regretted it ever since. I almost bought myself a late 2000's Z06 last year, but decided to go the Mustang route instead.

Main collecting focus is Patrick Roy playing days 85/86-02/03, expect 1/1, National/All-Star stamped cards.PC Completion: 2,548/2,952; 86.31% My Patrick Roy PC Website:https://proy33collector.weebly.com

I love most things. From self driven Ackerman setups and steam powered vehicles/equipment to rotary/pistons internal combustion to electric vehicles and jet turbo powered airplanes. The first car bug to hit me when I began driving was all wheel drive turbo DSM (diamond star motors = Eagle Talon, Mitsubishi Eclpse, Plymouth Laser, Mitsubishi Galant, Mitsubishi Diamante, Mitsubishi 3000gt, and Dodge Stealth. Probably many I left out) but eventually learned to appreciate all systems good and bad. Even a cheap Walmart Daewoo car has it's place. I took the long way to say I also have a Mustang in the collection. 1 of 787 1992.5 Summer Special.

I'm still amazed at the condition it appears in. I really want to know who bought it originally, what their life was like, whether this was their retirement gift to themselves, just another investment, or what the story is. I don't buy a car for the collection unless the story comes with it, otherwise it's just another lame machine to me.

    @hankcaddy

How much will it be to ship it to Newport Beach for grading?

Curious about the rare, mysterious and beautiful 1951 Wheaties Premium Photos?

Nah. It's being shipped to BBCE to get wrapped.
There will be a huge discussion about the backstory and Steve's qualifications.

@Stone193 according to Bloomington, this car meets the standard paint and interior are original unrestored .
Blomingington Gold does have a Survivor standard that requires the car must be more than 20 years old; able to pass a 10-mile road test; remain "over 50 percent unrestored, un-refinished, or unaltered;" and "retain finishes good enough to use as a color guide for restoration of a car just like it.

Sweet ride! Looks part restomod possibly which IMO would be the best route if you are going to drive it and not park it. That thing will turn a few heads for sure!
