How rare is a prime 1818 O.115?

I recently snagged this beat up O.115, I think I’m seeing a hint of the die crack right of the date. But it got me thinking, how rare is a true prime 115(no crack)? Would it be in the R.7 range?

You outbid me on this one . I actually do not see a die crack right of the date. I assumed it was there but light. Maybe another pic shows the crack better?

I don't believe any true primes have ever been confirmed. I had this discussion with a mentor of mine, and he said he has never seen without without a hint of the crack. I have the "as prime as it gets" pegged at an R6.

I think what you are seeing is a scratch, but can't be more definitive. Good luck.

Ken, My understanding is also that "no Die Cracks" has never been confirmed. R7? is what we're listed it as, at the moment.
I do not believe yours has the crack, so you may have the first. I just listed a 115a on the BST yesterday, and the line I see in your picture is not in the right place relative to dentils, etc.
With your permission, I could forward your images on to a couple 'Nut's that don't really participate here and see what they think.
Shoot me a PM if you want to do that.

@KensCoins2287 ... In your close-up of the 8, it does look like the faint beginning of a die crack. I am not an expert by any means in this field.... Just giving you my impression. Cheers, RickO
