For those of us who enjoy coins and wine, the World Wine Awards 2023 has just completed. I enjoy a nice Cabernet in the evenings when reviewing coins either from my collection or online. Take note @winesteven Here is a link to the results. Cheers, RickO

Thanks for sharing. I also enjoy a good Cab and viewing my collection, and have been buying some Australian Cabs recently as the price can't be beat, < $20 a bottle.
I foresee red toned coins in @ricko 's future.

A nice cab is always special, I also appreciate a good wine, especially a good malbec from Mendoza.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. For those that didn't click on the hotlink, this was a wine tasting competition of 18,500 different wines from 60 countries, that took place in London. Four bottles of each wine had to be submitted (so there were 74,000 bottles in all). There were 240 judges, each tasting 80 to 90 wines per day this past April.
Now I understand why I read back in April there was a tremendous line of men and women, going from London England to Edinburgh Scotland. They were applying to hope to become one of those lucky 240 judges, lol.

If you enjoy wine I'd strongly recommend
"Drops of God" on Netflix.
A wonderful series.

My wife and I socialize with another couple. The husband is very much into all things wine. He devotes substantial time to learning all about wine, its history, its production and the multiple components of the wine market.
When we socialize together we at times go wine tasting and the husband enjoys educating my wife and me about wine.
My wife and I are becoming more and more interested in the subject matter of wine (including drinking it).
Well I mentioned that my hobby is coin collecting. He said he has some coins that were passed down to him from his elder family members. He let me look some of them and I told him a little bit about numismatics. I showed him some of my slabbed coins and gave him a 1952 proof set in a Capital holder on his birthday as a present. I also took him to a local coin show.
He recently told me that he has started filling holes in some coin albums.
Perhaps my coin show and tell will eventually cause the coin collecting bug to bite him (as we all know, once bitten by this bug their is no cure.![:) :)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I think coins and wine go together quite well. Do you agree?
I truly like being a coin collector and wine drinker.

Researching coins is a daily regiment
for me as is partaking of the “grape” at dinner time. Lol

Edited to add pics.
Kennedys are my quest...
Wine is one of my other hobbies as well.
Are there any coins or exonumia depicting wine, winemaking, grapes, etc? US, world or ancient?
Please post em if you have em!
I think cheese goes better with wine, but it's kind of a personal preference and not a judgment of any sort.

Sorry, not into wine.
Rum, craft beer, and tequila, and generally never look at my coins during or after indulging.
I will however keep checking the forum, like now, with a rum runner in hand, that has a four rum blend.
A couple of years ago I bought this 2 oz. round of Bacchus from Limited Mintage. At the time I’m writing this, their current charge for this 2 oz. .999 fine silver is $62.71 plus reasonable shipping. They also offer classical numismatic designs, also 2 oz. about 1/4 inch thick!

I bet if you drink enough wine and coin shop on eBay or your favorite dealer websites at the same time, you can end up with some interesting packages in the mail. Lol

Good change up, most posts are about Whine and coins.
I prefer a high-end beer but, I must say, that fine libations and Coins do go very well together. It enhances the experience quite a bit.

Good to have sober company on the boards!
