The first one look more appealing to me. I have no idea how to grade dimes.... or any coin for that matter
Think of it this way.. Look at your yard after you cut the grass. How's it look ?
Ever bake a cake ? How's it taste ? Is it sturdy and level ? Do you need a beverage as it's eaten.
Take in all the facets you've looked into for errors and add them up. Don't forget eye appeal.
I won't give a grading until I feel comfortable. lol
I see from the photos of the slabs they are both the same grade. Still, the first one is a much nicer dime! More luster, less wear, fewer hits. The second dime looks to have been cleaned to me.

I'd take the 1st one over the 2nd.
Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
I prefer the first one... Not as much obverse wear and no ding on the reverse. Cheers, RickO
Yes, the first one is nicer in multiple respects (less wear, more luster, less harshly cleaned). Top one looks like an AU55 and bottom a cleaned AU50.
The top coin seems to still have some luster so I'd prefer that one over the second. The second coin looks like a dipped/cleaned XF...

Both look like they have been cleaned or dipped, especially the second one which is very unappealing.
