What is going on with this 1881 Carson City Morgan? Cleaned or Counterfeit?

Can't tell if the surface is damage from being harshly cleaned or if its actually pitted due to being counterfeit. More experienced eyes, what do you think?

Counterfeit. Typical of what's coming out of China these days.

Type collector, mainly into Seated. -formerly Ownerofawheatiehorde. Good BST transactions with: mirabela, OKCC, MICHAELDIXON, Gerard
From what I have seen from other sources, the 1881-CC dollar might be leading the numismatic leagues for the most counterfeited Morgan dollar. One crook was proudly displayed a whole slab box full of them in counterfeit certification holders.
Listing is gone...
....but the coin isn't gone. It will reappear in a different venue such as the local flea market.

Listing has been pulled, but as @PerryHall indicated, it will be back. Cheers, RickO
Unfortunately that is the best we can do...
