I did not intend to degrade your purchase, merely to offer an opinion as to its grade. Here is a large Morgan Dollar that is graded MS62. The scuffs and scratches held it to the grade. IMO

I was following that same auction so I would have disqualified myself from the GTG. Congratulations on the purchase. The MS64 of the same date/MM went for $6,900, wow.

MS62. Too many scratches and scuffs.

That picture is the size of a roadside billboard, any coin would look rough under magnification like that. I'll bet it looks pretty good in hand.

Too many scratches and scuffs for what?
For a 62? In general?
It is indeed a tad “baggy”, but it’s a dollar sized coin, and tough in higher grades like this.
This one probably wasn’t sea-salvaged, at least.
Good looking coin, I think I see some rub. 58

I like it. It is big, old and from San Francisco.
I would be happy with MS63.
Lots of luster, a little toning, but I'm thinking MS61
Looks to have nice luster and some hits, so a 62 seems fair (I wouldn’t be surprised at 63 but will stick with my 62 guess)

I’ll post the cert page link in a little while.
Once you get passed the "About Uncirculated" grade in this series, it gets real expensive, real fast.

I like it at MS62! Hard to find these without salt water damage and crazy hairlines IMO. Looks to have nice luster. 👍
I'm either at AU58, or AU62 as I think it has rub. Nice look!

@lordmarcovan ... Nice big silver coin. I had it at MS62.... I like that design, though I do not collect them. Cheers, RickO

Congratulations on the nice example.
Beautiful design.

Very nice, I like it as a 62!

Nice coin Lord! Speaking of $6,900 MS64 examples, here is an MS64 specimen that I recently won at GC for near double that MS64 price! Wondercoin
P.S. Justin did a great job photographing the coin in the PCGS holder when we received the coin from GC.
