A True Parking Lot Coin

I bought two coins from board member @Soldi . Unknown to either of us we live about 80 miles apart. I bought the coins on Saturday and sent him my mailing address. As it happened, his daughter lives in my area and @Soldi and his wife had plans to visit her the next day. We met in a convenience store "Parking Lot" and these two awesome coins exchanged hands.
These are truly Parking Lot acquisitions.

Not quite what I expected based on the title!
Very nice! ... and what a wonderful place we have here where things like this happen!

That is the best way to do a transaction, face to face!!! Congrats on picking up some nice coins in a parking lot. These are much better than what we are used to seeing from a parking lot.

We met in a convenience store "Parking Lot"
Many years ago, I bought a coin from a fellow coin collector and we agreed to meet half way in the parking lot of a local coin dealer we both knew. The coin shop was closed and the parking lot was empty except for our two cars. As we were making the exchange, a cop car pulled up and the cop started to eye-ball us. After a few seconds he left. I guess he wanted to make sure we weren't doing a drug deal.

You're exactly right! I saw the title/thread and wasn't even going to open it, until I saw @MWallace.
I knew it had to be something significant! 👍🏻 👍🏻

Great backstory to two nice coin acquisitions. Adds a new dimension to the term 'parking lot coins'.... I would really enjoy those type.... Though I must confess to picking up the other type whenever I see them. ... Can't help it, I collect coins. Cheers, RickO

Nice coins. It would be pretty nice to be able to meet up in person.
Nice.
Once upon a time, when I saw a coin advertised as "PL," I thought it meant "prooflike." I now know it means "Parking Lot." That explains a lot of PL coins offered for sale on Ebay.
Looks like two nice, wholesome half dollars added to your collection.

Nice original AU Barber !
Nice pickups! I had very positive dealings with @Soldi. Good guy.
Nice pickups! Both very original looking. The 1806 Half has that pretty circulated cameo effect.
I was more of a vest pocket dealer about 10 years ago.
I picked up a rare 1866 quarter PCGS VG-10 business strike.
Since I didn't have a table, I sold it to someone I knew well in the parking lot. It was over $1K.
I don't think I did that again, It felt pretty sketchy to do it.

I was expecting a coin dug up by Mongo.
