Cool bar. Was that a good deal with the buyers fee?
I wouldnt say a deal but going by the 1016 oz ingot from NY from Heritage 2022 for 33k + juice, its better but it isnt under melt hehe. Not many of these come up a lot, but I find it so interesting and it's silver also
Big picture it’s not crazy considering the bar melts for 5k less. Over the years Ive blown way more then that on dumb stuff. In one shot you have more silver then more then 90% of people on this planet. That being said I would be worried about re sale down the road.
lol i would just hold it and if silver ever goes up again then that will be a good bar to have with the built in 5k premium but I'll just let it sit for a high price.
That's one massive door stop. I would consider it a Museum Piece. Not many still around. Down the road, consider donating it to the ANA museum for a nice tax break.

I was tracking this and think it’s a rare and amazing piece. I think it went for a reasonable or even slightly cheap price given the history! Would love to see the dimensions or a photo next to a ruler. How many of these survived? This is ~70 years old and is a relic from the era when coins were silver! Off the record, I hope you have steel toed boots when you carry it!!
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous! 87.5 lbs? Wow! Congratulations! Silver bars are so cool. I wouldn't know where to start with a collectable bar, having to understand what constitutes a fair price and all. Any good books or websites that are informative?
Have you guys posted any other metal beauty photos lately? I'm thinking of the pictures of Sterling silver pieces that one of you guys always seemed to come across. I remember you guys talking about monster boxes, etc. I'm not seeing that right now - I guess because the prices are so high. I need to live vicariously through you guys! 😄

I hope I can pick it up! lol (not kidding!) The history is what sold it for me. These do not show up much
87.5+ pounds, lift with your legs not your Mind OR Back....I may have that backwards.
I wasn't kidding when I mentioned a hand truck in an earlier post, There's no handle on that bar and it will be somewhat slippery so moving it will be a challenge. Also, be careful you don't drop it on your foot.

@nexlevelnmx ... Thanks for the pictures.... That is one heck of a big bar of silver. While I am not a collector of silver bars, they do interest me..... And that one would be hard to resist just because of the size. Huge hunk of PM there... Cheers, RickO

Congrats @nexlevelnmx - helluva nice doorstop. I was watching the auction. That Fed Ex driver will be huffing and puffing to get it to your door.

@nexlevelnmx....Wow... that is one big hunk of silver... Not a bad premium either. You will do well if you hold it a while... Cheers, RickO
thats pretty cool, never seen one like that before
I'd be happy to stub my toe on that doorstop.
I was considering buying that bar, but the size of it is what made me reconsider. I don’t think you did bad at all, wasn’t too much over spot.

Lol great point there
Never had to bring a hand truck to pick up a numismatic item, a true first.
yes it will be a true first to bring a handtruck for this
Fortunately, you did not buy this puck for it's bullion value. As I stated before, this is a Museum piece and should be valued as such.
Well
Picked it up and all I can say: it is real good
Almost dropped it LOL.. i can do a picture later soon..
It is very nice.
