Can you tell me what the EXACT width of the box is?

You have numerous options. Among them are:
Get a different box
Give the coin away
Sell the coin
Shrink the holder (but not the coin) enough so that it fits into the current box
Dispose of some of the other coins so that you can store the coin sideways
😉

I believe on another site Jack Young told you this was indicative of a fake slab.
Can we get a pic of this oversized slab lying next to a slab that does fit your box?

Get a box that doesn't have slots.
Can you take a photo of both sides of the slab?
Sorry, this is the worst possible news...your slab box is counterfeit.

Well. Having just faced this problem let me show you what I did. Gunna need a dremel with the small barrel sander and some patience. A small piece of 120 sandpaper .
After removing as much as I could I found a little nub I couldn’t reach. I smoothed what I could and placed a small piece of scotch tape over them and ….
Here’s the results. Rattle round a little but they fit. Feel free to PM me with any questions. ( all slabs rattle a little so it works for me. $4 box and half hour of time)

Agree. Also, I think a pic of this slab that doesn't fit next to another slab that does fit would be useful to get some idea of the difference in size.

The basketball hall of fame coin is curved which requires a thicker slab. Is that the problem?

Would an "official" PCGS box work?
If it doesn't fit, you must (re) submit!
It should fit, like a glove.
Throw them all into a box, shake them up a bit, and put that box back in the safe.
That will at least cure your OCD.

Nothing and angle grinder couldn't fix.

some NGC boxes are larger, but probably not enough for that.
@crazyhounddog has a lot of experience with slabs, heat and the ensuing metamorphosis!

Understood. Why I mentioned cheap cost of pcgs. Boxes. But while it’s not the same exact box I’ve got some of those and we’ll. Ok never mind 🙃

Oh yeah!
It don't look bad on an angle.
Ok, Here's what I did![:o :o](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/open_mouth.png)
I took the box to the garage, I put an end mill in my milling machine and I removed 1web on both sides of the box between the coin slots. If you have the complete set, make sure you remove the webs in the correct place so that when you put the other coins in the coins end up in order.
I am in the process of selling my set so I do have my modified boxes. If I get a chance I will take a pic to show you what I'm talking about.
Yeah, it bothered me too

If you don't have a milling machine, you may be able to shave the divider flange down with a sharp chisel.

Did you guys look at my post. I feel like leftovers. It’s like you never looked. That’s ok I’m used to being overlooked. 🙃

Yes, it would take a bit of effort because the plastic is pretty hard, but it could be done. That or a little grinder/dremel.
You mean everybody doesn't have a milling machine in there garage?
I just said what I did...........

This slab will only drop in backwards.
Nope. I have same coin and pcgs boxes, doesn't fit. I put it sideways with a couple other "fatties"

What a problem - too damn tight!

Such issues never concern me. I just put the coin/slab in a cabinet, or the safe, or a shelf by my computer. Too busy having fun to let little things bother me....

That's the first thing I bought when I got into coin collecting - except I have to keep it in my barn........![:D :D](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
