Did you guys see this one. Odd how the rev. seems unaffected by the obv. damage.

@OAKSTAR.... It is strange... with such severe damage on the obverse, not to have any at all on the reverse. I can 'imagine' some hypothetical situations that 'could possibly' result in such damage... but still doubtful. Cheers, RickO
Maybe the obverse was laying down against the surface of the Walmart parking lot.![;) ;)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)

Counterfeit, imo
I wish the seller had kept it in the ANACS net graded slab...

So would a TPG'er attribute it as damaged, counterfeit or just body bag it

The listing should be removed as the seller is misrepresenting the coin as a certified Anacs G-4. That ship sailed when the coin was cracked out.

Misdirection of a sort. Hmm. I can believe that.
If it’s genuine, any TPG would attribute it as genuine but damaged
Although I saw the headline that said ANACS, But I didn’t see the label or cracked out holder – so maybe I’m wrong and it’s genuine, but it certainly doesn’t look like it to me
I personally do believe it is genuine and would retain some value- even at his opening bid- if he had kept it intact.
At a minimum, I'd hope he still has the insert.
Obviously severely damaged (and thus the net grade of GD4 by ANACS), it is still a valuable coin.

Thanks Fred.

Is it just me, or does the 9 not look doubled?

Similar note: Why would you put this on ebay as a BIN? Why not just set a reserve?

This ain’t worth worrying about saying something wrong. The coin is wrong.
Yes it does not look doubled and it has a horizontal line of extra damage going straight through the 9, so it is suspicious
Them having all sorts of good coin there
It's not BIN. 400$ opening bid (unless the auction was changed before)
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
It may very well be genuine - the eyelids, lips, and tie are all doubled. Usually those details are'nt on fakes/counterfiets.
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Yes... something drastically wrong with the '9' in the date. I'd have to be very leery of it, and suspect fake. The damage on the front was probably intentional? to draw attention away from the somehow messed up '9'.
Can't really tell if a couple of the die markers are on the reverse? (as noted on ngccoin.com)
I'm not sure what you are looking at but that 9 is definitely doubled.
The coin looks legit to me, most counterfeits seem to ignore all the "other" doubling, such as in the hair, eyelid, and Lincoln's profile. This is present here as @Steven59 said.

typed Anacs cert # listed in the listing for verification:
seller claims it was removed from the holder in days gone past..............
So why isn't the cert # still valid?

From this comment, and similar in another thread, methinks you spend a lot of time at Walmart, and specifically, in their parking lots![>:) >:)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/naughty.png)
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
The Walmart parking lot coin find is a running insider joke here. We've had numerous non-collectors show us beat up damaged coins wanting to know if it's some kind of rare mint error. Most look like they spent time on a parking lot. When we give them a reality check and tell them they have no special value and to just spend them, they usually leave and aren't seen again.

I know...but there's another longstanding joke about you and certain "types" and how they fit walmart..... LOL

Looks like the seller corrected the cert #. It looks legit.

Thanks for posting that additional info – I was wrong in my opinion about it.
Not a problem. Not that they are bad but I would certainly be inclined to trust you, before ANACS.

I placed a bid on this coin, and I noticed tonight the auction had been pulled. I can't tell if it was eBay or the seller.
Either way, I am disappointed as I think this 55/55 had merit and worth.

Contact the seller. You still might be able to make a deal with him. More then once over the years coins have been pulled (for whatever reason), I contacted the seller, made a deal, they relisted it and I snagged it.
