Why do you feel acetone would do anything?

I like it, but would not pay a premium for it.

In all honesty, I would not have bought that type of coin, but I would assume, acetone would remove it. There I go, assuming. Not a wise move on my part, evidently.

10 digit PCI holder is always good in my book.
    I think it's a keeper.

Unnatural look to it. Too many nice examples of this date out there for the collector to have to settle for this one.

This is one of the few exceptions where I would say, I would want to dip.

Under that toning, there’s got to be a really pretty coin. I can tell it’s well struck and got great luster.

I'm not convinced it's actually toning. It looks like dip residue from an improper rinse to me. I'd crack it out, try MS70, and then dip again if necessary.

It almost seems like those holders are doing that to those coins. They almost always have that kind of Toning.

I am not a bigger fun of the toned coins, but I find the slab been for my perspectives the most attractive.

Interesting Weiss say "B" holder. Probably the "A" must be the Hallmark slabs. Good to know and add to my database of slabs also Type A, B, etc.

Me I say Generation 1.0 and was produce 1991-1992 after PCI purchase Hallmark equipment in 1991. In general on those slabs the coins was properly graded, and I consider overall Scarce slab and very scarce with PQ. I will buy the coin just for slab.

It's got "Old Green PCI Holder Toning". I would crack it out because the terminal state of that toning would likely be worse.

I have a few with that color match, but in a pastel like medium.
One looks like a lava flow. At the point (front) of the flow is a raised wave pushing or eating the outside layer of the coin.
    Not these photos.
These photos, well, the reverse only, looks cool as the rider, rides off into the sunset.

I can't see this damage heading any further. The OP coin reflects something else with this color.

A bathe with lye soap and a wire brush-OK just a light dip. From the photos the coin appears really nice under the hideous streaks.

The toning on a scale of 1 to 10 is a one. Perhaps the toning on the face is reflective of scratches on Ms. Liberty's face. I would definitely dip the coin in whatever it takes to get rid of the toning. The toning should have detracted from the grade.

If toning were to be factored into a coin's grade then this coin would only be a 63. However if the toning was special it might be a 66+. Problem with that is most dealers have barely evolved to the Sheldon system let alone adding another criteria that greatly affects a coin's value. This coin is illustrative of how little we have progressed from BU to MS65, but not sure that coin could have been sold as BU.

Blast White would only be a neutral grade. I would be surprised if this coin even sold for 63 money, but a dip might make it worthy of 65 money? Provided that the dip was not intrusive.

The coin has a look... not the usual blue plate special. I like the look more than I dislike it. It is one of those coins one needs to see in hand to determine whether it is a coin for you
