All these peace dollars being posted lately, i went on the hunt.
After a few days of searching this one stood out to me. Relatively clean, cheek not too distracting, looks like a pretty good strike.

Looks like a nice strong strike. MS65
Hopefully that black stuff doesn't eventually engulf the entire coin.

I felt it was a 64 or 65. Seems heavily undergraded. Im just not seeing 55 wear. Thoughts?

There are dings in Liberty's hair and on the Eagle.. but not seeing obvious wear in the pictures. Surprised at the grade. Cheers, RickO
Looked MS to me too. In any case, it’s an exceptionally nice coin for the assigned grade. As always, the grade might make more sense with an in-hand assessment.

Whoa, did not expect a 55, now that's what I call a great GTG thread - do share further when you receive it.
Before I saw the reveal, I was guessing MS65.
That coin is way better than au55. I looked at some of the certs around that one and they are all 1925's graded au55. That seems strange. Someone must have had a long power lunch and came back into work and labeled that whole group as au55...!
