Slider I'm at AU 58 BN. Above the ear and the lobe warrant it.

I don't see any real rub. The dark areas are just from handling over the years. I just bought an 1899 from @ThePennyLady last month, but your has more red on it, so I will guess it's MS65RB.

MS62RB but it won't surprise me if it actually gets an MS63 RB.

    I'll take a guess AU58 to MS60

Looks like an AU58 RB to me... Unless that 'rub' is not really rub... but there is also what appears to be slight rub on the shield on the reverse... Cheers, RickO

I believe MS62 would be a fair grade for the handling discoloration.

I'll guess AU64.5. Definitely looks like rub to me and downgraded for spots.

The strike appears weak, but I don't see any wear. The 4 diamonds are solid and I don't see any luster breaks. Eye appeal just so so. I can see MS 62 RB.

Very interesting comment thread, there’s absolutely no wear on this coin. It’s a nice 64 with spottiness keeping it from higher.

Love it. I would have guessed 64rb and nearly a 65 but for a few spots. It is original to my eye and mostly, though not fully, red. I have an 1894 ready to go to grading with a similar look. To me it is worth a premium.
