Very cool. That's almost hypnotic. It looks like it was taken by an electron microscope. That would be perfect for checking for added mintmarks,

Nice. I have two questions. Are you using a stereo microscope? And do you have any 1979S SBAs Types I and II you can photograph?
No, I’m not. I have a lens that has 4-4.5x magnification called Mitakon for Nikon body (might be posting a couple of macro lenses in BST including lens used for these photos). Definitely requires learning curve but once you get the hang of it, it provides awesome results that can provide posted pics and below.
Unfortunately I don’t have either of the coins you mentioned 😅.
Took this a few years ago with a $12 USB microscope, not the easiest thing to focus in the stock stand but it takes great pics.

Great magnified pictures in the OP.... and that 3D rotating image is awesome... I spent a lot of time looking at that original thread. Cheers, RickO
This is pretty cool! I will be doing some focus stacking and 3d rendering in the near future. Hopefully I can do something like this 😜!

I would certainly be glad to pay an extra fee to PCGS or NGC(even others) with the TV of a coin, especially with error coins. Wow.
