Hello everyone I am posting a new purchase of my first Ike Dollar. Thanks to your advice and support from my last post of whether I should buy this Ike I passed on that coin.
Please give me your feedback either positive or negative. Thanks to all who participate.

Coin got a green sticker. I am disappointed that there is no gold, but happy to add another CAC green sticker to my collection.

I'd be inclined to say 69 but based off the above comment I'm going with 68.

Thanks. I never realized how large this coin is till I bought one. I thought it was comparable in size to the classic silver dollars.

@Walkerlover I will guess MS67, but that is a very clean 67. In the Ike series, the 40% silver circulation strikes are generally cleaner looking than the clad ones. For that reason, I really like them over the clad variety, and nearly all of the Ike series are quite affordable. The 1972 clad Type 2 is the most expensive. I have one in MS62. I hope you don't mind me posting it here on your thread, but you can see the clads look a bit crappier than the silvers.

I completed a registry set of Ikes a few months ago, and am now working on the proofs as well. I really enjoy the series because they are large, and pretty affordable. I will very likely upgrade the MS set as I find better coins, but here is what I have right now:

The OP coin looks like an MS67.... Nice Ike for sure. I like them, though they never became super popular. I would love to see another BIG U.S. coin... maybe a two or five dollar coin... with real art, not a dead president. Cheers, RickO

And for all the chaos above :D

I did some detective work on a pic he posted and saw the S67.

He requested i take it down until the reveal.

It’s a very nice looking Ike. I would have guessed 68. I think it’s a waste of money to send to CAC, though. It’s a $40 coin and I think it’s extremely unlikely to go gold.

Why do you think so. The coin is so clean and the pictures do represent the coin in hand. Many forum members guessed MS 68 and several MS 69. I think it has a chance although gold is always very difficult to obtain. The only thing that I worry about is CAC not giving it gold because it’s not an older holder. There is some inherent favoritism I believe towards older holders

I would have guessed MS 68+ or better. I think it would plus or maybe 69 if resubmitted as a reconsideration or regrade or crack out. Gorgeous coin I don’t see any real contact marks in the true-view

After awhile the issue becomes a matter of cost versus value. Ike’s are lovely and I have several but they remain available at reasonable prices and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a CACed ike before so there’s that. Just a thought. Thanks 🙏

Just did a search of eBay and there’s several with off brand stickers, I found none with a CAC. Thanks 🙏

The CAC population reports show many stickered coins. You can also find some on great collections archives.

Two places this ole collector doesn’t think to look. Thanks
It’s understandable as I have passed on several CAC stickers over the years and don’t use or participate in auctions. I do however enjoy following and shall check out your suggestions. 👍🏼

As I said it’s a very nice coin and I liked it as a 68 but it’s extremely hard to get a gold sticker on any 67. Unless the coin has some standout feature that really makes it scream I just don’t see it happening. I can’t split grading hairs from your photos so I can’t comment too specifically on the merits of your coin but just going by how few gold 67s there are I’d say the odds are against it. How likely do you think it is to get a gold?

One thing I just thought about is for this coin there is no incentive to upgrade a 67 to try for a 68 unlike basically every series CAC reviews. That certainly does make it more likely there are 68 coins in 67 holders.
