Neither. Coins chatter looks terrible like ms 60 or 61.

Hard to tell from the obverse pic. Your coin's reverse looks cleaner; hope those scratches by eagles left wing are the holder and not the coin.

I'm guessing your asking because yours is a 62 and you grade yours equal to or better than the 63.

First one has been noticeably dipped and has residue ... the second has attractive frost but the planchet striations are rough

Classic dilemma. Obverse has extreme chatter while reverse is lovely. MS-62

    Too much chatter for me.

    Both look MS 62.

Top one appears to be MS62 while the bottom one has planchet striations that make it look worse than the assigned grade.

    Top one looks like a 2 obv and a 4 rev. I say 2.
Second one looks like a 2 obv and a 4 rev as well, so I say 2, but it is slightly nicer, so I can see a 3, even though I would not buy it as a 3.

    MS-62

    "Which would you rather have?"

If this is a forum giveaway I'll take either one. ;)

I grade the first coin 62 and the second one 62+.

But if you really wanted unbiased options, it would have been better to have had posters guess the grade of the first coin, without limiting the options to just those two grades.

    MS61
    The buyers set the grades.

Always expect critical analysis on the coin forums, the luster may be excellent inspite of the marks. Of course if they were graded like that by Anacs or ICG people would be jumping over one another to say they overgrade coins. "Looks lak a damaged AU to me!"

So what are your answers to the two questions asked in the first post?

The OP first coin would be MS62 ... More chatter in focal areas... Cheers, RickO

First coin is MS62. Second coin is far superior in my opinion. I feel it is accurately graded as MS63. The planchet striatum’s are only a minor detractor in my view.

Normally I would except in this case MS64 I think it out of the question, and while I suppose MS61 is on the table for some people, I felt it wasn't. The reverse is beautiful.

I was considering a move to upgrade to the second coin but the forum reaffirmed what I felt which is that it is a low end 63 and only marginal improvement. I can't make the numbers work so I will keep my MS62.

    GRADE REVEAL: It's MS62

It is very pleasing to the eye and the mark on the reverse is actually a scratch on the slab. I believe it is a CAC candidate.

Need more lighting on left side of obverse photo to make an informed opinion.
