Strike Thru 5$ Indians... question
I was scanning the 5$ Indians in the upcoming Fairmont auction and there are a lot of strike thru coins. Is this common to the series? Cursory research says not really but Lordmarcovan posted his and it made me wonder.

Common? no. Will you find an example with time and patience? likely yes.

Above are just 5 of the ?? listed Indian Strike Thru coins... Seems "Common"
I had not thought they were common, but never researched it. @Relaxn... Your list surprises me... Cheers, RickO
Small grease blob strike throughs are “relatively common,” especially on the $5’s. I would guess that the design bumps that created the incused lettering made it hard to wipe the dies.
From my years of collecting $2 1/2 Indians, I found and graded several strike throughs. I would not call them common on the $2 1/2 Indians. But if I had decided to sell all mine in the same auction they may appear that way. Possibly could be something similar? Any way to tell if a collector is selling all they have at once?
