"CoinFacts Errors" #5-7 have all been about certified "error" coins that happen to occupy the "auction record" spot.
~ #5 - NGC "overstruck" error;
~ #6 - NGC "incorrect planchet" error;
~ #7 - PCGS "incorrect planchet" error.
I am NOT an expert on PCGS auction data. That said, is it POSSIBLE that PCGS 'intentionally/knowingly' records the "error" results along side the non-error results for a given item, and considers both for the "auction record" field? IF that is the case, an "error" coin could become the "auction record", and PCGS would not consider it to be a problem.
FWIW, PCGS appears to be able to 'skip' the "error" coin results when determining their "price guide" value. If they did not, the resulting value would be significantly higher than what is presented. My point - PCGS seems to be able to 'ignore' certain auction results when it suits their purposes, and it looks like they have chosen NOT to 'ignore' the "error" items when determining the "auction record".
Knowingly?
Intentionally?
I don't know. I think it's a bit of a messy artifact that's misleading right now. Maybe PCGS likes it the way it is. Maybe they'll separate out the mint errors. We'll see soon enough.

@MapsOnFire... Have you, or anyone, contacted customer service with this information? Might be the way to go... Cheers, RickO
