I like the woodgrain effect of the toning on the obverse, looks good on a coin from the 1800s. Makes it look more “antique”. The reverse is so so with the splotchiness on the 2nd s in states but not bad enough to ruin the eye appeal. Well struck with no noticeable hits. Overall a very nice coin 👍🏼

Nice V. I have a feeling there may be a little more color than what can be seen now.

Planning on picking up a few similar 19th C coins.

Nice pickup. The corn looks more like corn than sausage — so strike is decent too.

This is exactly MY cup of tea! At first glance, the obverse looks so hammered I thought it was a proof! The reverse says otherwise though - it's a very, very nice business strike! MS65 is my GTG. I absolutely love it! You have a good eye, my friend.

I’m guessing that the coin is a Proof, and that’s why there have been positive comments about its strike and lack of hits.

That's a great looking Liberty! Love the natural, unmolested look. <3

    I'm thinking she might be a PF66 ... certainly wouldn't surprise me.

That was my first thought but the rims don't appear to be squared off like you would expect on a proof and the fields don't have a mirror finish. Not a series I am familiar with so I'm looking forward to see what grade it received.

I was thinking proof as well... I had some doubts as to the reverse at the other corn ear. Wonderful coin. I see it as a coin that must be seen in hand to get the same benefit as the graders. I like the look- it works

A really nice proof nickel..... I initially thought 65... but looking at it again, well...I will stick with 65. Cheers, RickO

Before you do post the grade, ... well that didn't work! Haha!!

    That's a very nice looking 63

Before you do post the grade, I'm torn between 65 (probably, and also the lowest I think it can be), and 66 (what I think it could be). Images might fool me, but that's what I think. Didn't want to edit my first post.

Had I posted, I would have guessed PR64. But I didn’t, because I believe that in most cases, it’s folly to assess the grade of Proofs, based on images.
