I was just looking up the history on the draped bust about a week ago. Some info below for anyone interested.
All coins (copper and silver) bore the same obverse. Robert Scot, Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, 1793–1823, transformed a portrait of a society lady by Gilbert Stuart into a rather buxom Ms. Liberty. Some accounts identify the woman as Philadelphia socialite Ann Willing Bingham. She remained essentially unchanged for several years with the exception of an extra curl added to her flowing locks in 1798.
A painting of Ann Willing Bingham

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
That’s a cutout from Jefferson’s presidential spouse gold medal pasted onto the blank side of a uniface medal I own. Since he wasn’t married they used Lady Liberty from the old large cents. I think they did a decent job in reproducing it. Here’s what the actual medal looks like

Thanks, ill be tracking that one down

It’s the only presidential spouse gold coin/medal that made sense to me to purchase. I bought it from the mint when it first came out. I always thought the classic liberty design would make it a winner. I have no idea if it is now going for a premium over the other spouse medals or not though, but to me it should sooner or later

I've always been partial to this one, J-561. The only error I see is that it was never selected for a circulating coin!
All beauties. If you ever get tired of them you can donate them to me
Is that a high relief 22? and a SP66 1794? OH MY

Absolutely- she was a wonderful steward for 50 years!

I realize this is what is currently stated from many sources on the internet.
However, "Gilbert Stuart had nothing to do with the Draped Bust design."
Quote from Harry Salyards advertising his new book, Eagle Poised on a Bank of Clouds: The United States Silver Dollars of 1795-1798
Salyards has 37 pages to debunk the myth. Excellent fact-based research.
Thanks, ill look into that. I didnt deep dive, just found a few sources with similar info and then moved onto other coins. Ill check out Salyards.

Oops...missed that part about "a U.S. coin". This will have to do.
Lance.
Well... After due consideration and reflection, I would say this would be my favorite portrait.

The draped bust is one of the most underrated designs of US Coinage. It’s among the best designs before there was a golden age of coinage.
