Four gold coins back from PCGS Gold Shield reholdering w/TrueView images

I sent these off from the FUN show for Gold Shield reholdering, in order to get the TrueView images. The coins were already graded but were in standard blue label slabs without online images.
The 1857 gold dollar in particular I wanted imaging on, because it has some subtle yet attractive toning I don’t think I’d have been able to adequately photograph myself.

What causes the whitish toning on coins like the ‘57? Seems like a lot of Type 3 dollars have it.

It’s iridescence. I guess it has something to do with the copper in the alloy? Dunno, but it’s pretty. Pinkish.
