Looks nice with some nice patina and toning. One question, is the green on the Obv toning or maybe some pvc?

I love spartan, gladiator stuff and it reminds me of that.

    Very cool coin, nice details

The design is great. The look of this coin doesn't appeal to me.

It looks like an AU-58 with the original skin. These coins come in high grade, and there is not much of a price break for lower grades. If you thinking about a purchase, I would look for a nicer one.

If you haven't already bought it I would keep looking though it is an AU that would make a good album coin if the price is right.

    Exactly why I purchased it.
Regarding the possible PVC on the obverse- I'll take a closer look when it arrives.

    It's a (Dansco) album coin.
It'll replace a brilliant one that is in there now.

That one will go into a 7070-type set album.

From what I remember of the commem album you showed in another thread, this example will fit pretty well. It’s not as circulated as some of your others but the darker look still helps it match.

I have a raw BTW that has that look. It was an impulse buy. I was too lazy to return it. I will give it away some day to someone yet to be determined.

Nice piece. I much prefer it to the one you refer to on ebay. It looks fully original, and is probably unc technically, with some cabinet or album friction. These come really nice and are cheap, so for other than an album, I suggest a 65, 6, or 7 as they are beautiful and not that expensive, except for the crazy toned ones.

Can you spot the miner in the coin?

Personally, I think this is one of the classic designs that makes a better impression in unc with swirling luster and maybe a little bit of toning. That said, as a circulated coin, it has a very original look and thick skin.

    There are two of them.
One is below the bear's chin.
The second one is standing behind the Exposition building. /s

Too dark for me..... Good as an album coin as indicated.... Cannot hazard a guess on the grade from those pictures... Cheers, RickO
