1857-s $20 SS Central America

A local shop has one of these $20 Libs, but the certification number does not come up or is the gold foil type. It's #1910, AU58, how do you find this in the PCGS system?

From what I’ve researched, I’m currently under the assumption that SSCA cert numbers can only be obtained by emailing pcgs with the info and asking for it. I would really love if someone proves me wrong here, as it’s very inconvenient to have to do that.

This one is also cac certified. I checked out auction records which are not easy to segregate in the HA system for these.
If we’re talking about pricing and auction records, you can go to the 57-s tab in coin facts. Then hit “varieties” and scroll down to “minor varieties” and it will be the first option. I don’t see any sales data for a 58-cac

I'm curious what the reason was to pull connectivity to the grading company with these?
Not sure, hope more chime in soon. I considered that it may have been some type of oversight but it’s most definitely inconvenient.

I was remembering a similar discussion on this and the same answer. Did a search and found this semi-recent thread with the same answer.

For my 1857-S Central America shipwreck coin, I called PCGS, gave the rep the SSCA number on my coin and they gave me the cert # that was associated with my specific coin.

OK I am confused. Why would you need to ask PCGS for a cert#? What is an SSCA#? I have a 66+ 57-S (with a pinch) it is a spiked shield and to be honest the large holder and the pinch were actual distractions. I bought the coin. Am I missing something?
Yours (like mine) is from the second batch of coins from the SS Central America Shipwreck. They are in a big holder with pinch of gold. The first series of coins came in gold foil regular sized holders and have no cert number provided.

Why would coins graded by PCGS not have a certification number ?
I contacted PCGS customer service with the SS Central America gold foil insert number, this was the response:
Thank you for reaching out to PCGS Customer Care. I will gladly assist you with your inquiry.
Like it stated in the forum, no cert has been offered for this coin.
Looking into it further, I see that for the coins we graded at a 58, they do not have cert numbers to provide. It is PCGS #70004 in the price guide.

If you could give me the PCGS # of the coin you are specifically looking at, I will gladly look into this further.
Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.
I did hear finally from PCGS what the matching certification number is. No Trueview but these were earlier I believe. Thanks.
