I don't collect a ton of game used pieces, but Andrew McCutchen is one of my all-time favorite Pirates. I saw this available, as I really wanted to add a game used bat to my McCutchen collection since I already have his game used cleats (2015), batting gloves (2009) and now a bat. I'll be looking to add a jersey next. (Pirates only) This bat he used was with the Phillies against the Mets on April 5, 2021. Cutch grounded out to short as he cracked his bat against Jacob deGrom. What I love about this bat, it has Cutch's alter ego "Uncle Larry" on the knob of the bat.
The other two bats picture that I have displayed is a Cutch game issued bat with auto & inscription 2013 NL MVP & Jason Kendall auto game used bat during his rookie season in 1996.

I decided to submit my 3 Johnny Bench spring training 1968 snapshots to PSA for authentication.
This was my first-time submitting photos.
I got the results back and all 3 were deemed Type 1 photos dating to 1968.
I supplied PSA with research on the history of the Reds uniforms showing that uniform worn by Bench could only have been taken in spring training 1968 and they agreed.

I picked the Bench photos up on ebay about 15 years ago. Someone was selling a complete photo archive of a professional photographer who was based out of Florida. I wish I could remember the photographer's name.
I let go of my original (and first graded) copy back when I landed this one. They’re pretty tough to find and I’m just happy to have one that’s graded in my collection again.
Curious about the rare, mysterious and beautiful 1951 Wheaties Premium Photos?
Just got this back from Ebay authentication, even though I paid less than $250.
I love the 1998 Topps Chrome Refractors. It was the first year that Topps did a full set Chrome release (over 500 cards), and the refractors are the only parallel, inserted at 1:12 packs. Crazy by today's standards where there's a refractor in nearly every pack. Topps never released production numbers, but there can't be much more than around 500 of each refractor (and many are badly centered).
Got the last of the three Boggs rookie cards today. Super pleased with it. I mentioned before Boggs was my childhood favorite player so having his rookie trifecta definitely brings a smile to me. The three of them will look sweet displayed alongside each other on a book shelf in the office.
As far as looks/design go the Donruss is definitely my favorite. Although I do appreciate that Topps gives us both an action shot and a portrait.
Great Boggs RC's! He was my favorite Red Sox player when I was a kid. Unfortunately, his 1983 Topps PSA 10 is out of my price range, but I have a very nice 9. My Boggs centerpiece is a PSA 10 1984 Topps Tiffany. I also have his 1984 Fleer & Donruss in PSA 10 - I've always believed that each company's 1984 design was their nicest of the decade.
How can this not be a 4.5?!!! I've had a lot of trouble understanding PSA's half point grading from its inception. I see beautifully centered lower grade cards all the time but very of them were given the half point bump. I feel like it was solely a gimmick to get people to sub cards for review in the hopes of getting a bump. The grading cost should absolutely be reduced by at least 50% when a review doesn't result in a bump since they do not have to perform the work of cracking out and reholdering the card.
@reelinintheyears ...... ultimately I think we'd all like the highest grades gettable..... but I really just care about eye appeal and a decent surface... if this card was a PSA 1.5 with this centering I'd be all over it.... likewise If this card was graded 15 years ago it may well have gotten a PSA 5 or higher ....grading has gotten more stringent IMO.
A few pickups from the month. 1980 Carter OPC, I'm a sucker for the rough cuts. The 1985 is the Topps Super, I'm working on autographs of all Carter's Topps products (aside from stickers). Then the 77 Staubach's, I really like old label SGC holders and they are often really cheap , the ungraded is a 2015 Topps buyback silver.

I have this one but it's a 5, and Carew is one my favorite chases. I've been watching several of these and have (mostly) talked myself into going after higher grades.
Oddball item: 1963 Stancraft playing cards Otto Graham
hey Browns1981,
Very cool...love that retro green...single bar's...Just Perfect...
IMHO the Redskins Feather logo helmet from back then was one of the worst. It sucks they had to change the logo recently, I thought the Indian Chief helmet was one the best. It was based after Chief Two Guns White Calf.

1989 World Series Trophy and the 1992 George Brett 3000th hit GU signed ball:
The WS trophy is obviously given to a staff worker which is far more affordable than to a player. Along with it is the program, full ticket and the MVP - Dave Stewart RC.
The other side - is a GU ball (PSA DNA for ball and sig) from Brett's 3000th hit game - don't have a program yet.

Beautiful Reggie…one of his most iconic cards.
LOVE the 78 Reggie! Great card. I went on a bit of a spree getting those 9s a while back and have several. Still wish I had more!
Got these two rookie cards today. Bob and Wade were my favorite players growing up. They're also my first graded cards.

Gotta love those poses back then.

Pretty Cool...
Got this today, impulse buy. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet. I kind of like just looking at it lol.
