Niners played a bad game so far. Their defense was great, until it wasn't. That turnover was inexcusable

I hope SF loses I prefer to see Philly in the Superbowl anyways. So go Philly!!! I think KC versus Philly would be a great game.

It ani’t over until it’s over.

    Yogi Beara

If the 49ers don’t have the refs, they sure have color guy on the announcing team.

Shanahan givin' the refs some heat........ Deserved.

Maybe, but I think the Niners got the BIG Break..... It looked to me like the Niner QB had the ball stripped and recovered by the Eagles deep in Niner territory and it wasn't called......TWO SCREW UPS (fumbles) by the QB! Who is that guy???? The score should be 28-0 or 24-0 at halftime. Sad day for the Niners fans.....This could get ugly!

Defense and a good running game will typically win championships, but injuries, turnovers and penalties sure help. It's sort of a bummer that things turned sour for the 49ers so fast in such a big game.

If you're going to take a penalty for a late hit, don't make it some weak push out of bounds. Make it count.

If I was a Niners fan, I'd be wondering why you are just letting hurts run like that. Yes, I know, he's done it all year. But this is now or never. In the 1st quarter SF should have brought some old school pain to Hurts. Make him think twice about taking off on a run. He's gotten hit hard a few times, but too little.

Some really dumb plays by the Niners, too bad, they don't seem in sync. When your QB can't hold the ball hiked to them, alas, it's over. But obvious dumb penalties will put you deep in the hole......

The 49ers turn it over 4th down. The fat lady warming up.

The fat lady is singing her torch song.

The fat lady is hitting the high “Cs” now. It’s on to Arizona!

The STUPID RULE is now in effect!!!

If I'm not mistaken, Williams threw a punch on that Kick-Off runback by Samuel after the play was over at the sideline. Just ridiculous.

I would say that overall once Purdy was sacked on that first possession that the game was effectively over. With all that said I believe this Officiating crew didn't make a good showing of themselves. The teams and the fans deserve better from the refs in such a big game.

That Philly "D" is one tough bunch.

Rumors Brady will be with SF next year will see if that happens.

Sports talk radio tomorrow morning in the SF Bay Area will opine that:

    1. Shananhan is a terrilbe coach and should be fired;

    2. Brock Purdy is Mr. Irrelevant and not the solution to the 49rs in their search for a franchise QB that can lead the team for the next 5-10 years; and

    3. The Eagles are not better than the 49rs because of the injury to Purdy and the refs making bogus calls that favored the Eagles and penalized the 49rs.

It would have been interesting to see how the game would have turned out if Purdy had not been injured; and if SF did not fall aprat in the final minutes of the second quarter (giving up two touchdowns and fumbling the ball).

I feel sorry for Johnson, Purdy's replacement. Tough spot for him to be in and he ended up getting a concussion tht took him out of the game.

49rs postgame show has a discussion about who should be the starting QB next year; and some of the discussion is that the 49rs need to have Tom Brady sign with the 49rs and be the starting QB next year.

If SF does that, they are fools. Brady might be passable with better receivers and coaching, but his best days are behind him.

The Eagles are better than you think, but we will see in Arizona.

I agree but his name draws the crowd. In my opinion he should retire but that is me. Maybe SF will give him a 1 year deal and that is it.

Just heard Purdy tore a ligament in his elbow - No time line given............

"San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy sustained a complete tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow and will need surgery, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Per the report, the hope is that he can avoid complete reconstruction of the ligament in the form of Tommy John surgery.1 hour ago"

So if Purdy goes the "Tommy John Surgery route" then he's out all of next season? No wonder the Brady rumors are flying around.

Actually no. Articles from SF I saw mostly said let Purdy come back next year and start, bye bye to TL. No criticisms of Shanahan in these articles...........
