I traded in my design/build construction co. For…New pics added, almost totally moved in now!

Something I will truly enjoy in my retirement. Clocks, trains and coins, tokens and medals of course!
Unwrapped a few from the move, need to unpack more!
..
.
This office is soooooo much more enjoable
.

.
Just picked up this old map cabinet, lined with an old map on each tray. We need to clean it up and put a nice top on it.
Then I’ll set the copy stand and camera on top. Getting very excited!
.
The empty frame is my token collection that I imaged. The movers broke the glass so need to get a new glass.

Beautiful!
Congratulations on the retirement and on completion of the move!
Having gone through both fairly recently, I can attest to the challenges and adjustments of both!
Cheers!!

WTG Stef. I can attest that retirement is wonderful (but I still do part time consulting work). You now have the time to really indulge in your hobbies. Happy for you.

Nice clean office set-up and I sure like your train and clocks. Wish you the best in retirement and have fun with your hobbies!
Thank you each and everyone of you. We've been here in the Las Vegas area since mid November and I must say it did
take a while (and some tears) to adjust. Haven't moved from Los Angeles in 31 Years. But, I am starting to feel very comfortable in our new home.
.
And my new copy stand showed up today.......someone stole it (movers)
I just had to take some quick images

Congratulations on your retirement and new house and office. Everything looks great. Scary about the copy stand going missing, I hope nothing else valuable went with it
Mr_Spud
.
Thanks. Unfortunately a bunch of expensive tools went missing and some of our other personal items.
At least the camera, lens and coins were with us.

Wow, what a big move. Los Angeles is getting pretty rough though. You went through a crazy time in the construction business, enjoy yourself and learn how to relax...
Hope your retirement is everything you want it to be. Careful with those one armed bandits at the casinos.
Welcome to retirement, it's wonderful to reclaim your time as your own as it becomes our most valuable asset at this stage of life. The new house looks beautiful ......many many years of health and happiness to you both!

Congratulations on retiring. I think I said it before but your coin photos are really nice.

Congratulations on retirement and a big move Steph..... both are significant. I did it the same way in 2008.... Still having fun and never a boring day. Cheers, RickO
Thats terrible !
Hopefully there is some kind of compensation, though getting your items back would be best solution.
Enjoy your next chapter in your new life !
I hope you enjoy your retirement, and always look forward to seeing your great Coins and Tokens!
Cheers
It's all about what the people want...
Congrats! I have a house full of old clocks, also; it's a lovely sound every 15 minutes, and especially at the top of every hour. I've had to learn how to fix them, which also is kind of fun.
We are almost totally done with remodeling and moving into our new home and loving it. Took time to say goodbye to Los Angeles and our home of 21 years but now I'm super happy we did it.
Yes, most coins are toned but that was from LA and storage for 6-8 month's. I was surprised tho, how the 2021 Peace dollar started toning.
.
Here are some more pics of the "office" and the map cabinet that were are converting into a coin cabinet.
It's moving slowly as I'm debating on using the old maps for underneath the coin trays. I don't believe they are expensive and does look pretty cool to open up map drawers and see both
......and yes I still like bears......after all I'm a girl.
.
I still need to update the album pages as they are mismarked.
This is the Peace dollar.

Wow that's really cool!! Sweet looking office.
Congratulations! I too enjoy clocks as a pastime. I hope there was insurance for your lost/broken items! Hope the moving company makes you whole!
.

Thanks. As general contractors I thought it would be “safer” to use my workers. As it turns out it was not a good idea
I did save in moving costs but at a cost of valuable items gone and they shrug and say…..I don’t know.
Oh well I’m not going to dwell on it and let them pee on my happiness

I like the old maps lining the trays.
All look great!

That’s what I’ve decided in. I’m going to remove the protective white paper to expose the world maps. I just adore them.
The map cabinet was made in 3 or 4 different sections. I guess for ease of moving them around. I haven’t decided what to do with it but I think I’m going to leave the exterior and interior all original. I just put an inexpensive stained pine wood top on it for now.

With so many interests retirement will surely agree with you.
You have to stay busy and stay engaged. You just don't need to worry so much about what time it is.
A lot of retirees say they have no idea how they used to squeeze everything in and have a job too.
Best wishes.
Looks great! Enjoy the new digs and your retirement!
