Acetone (pure 100%) will help greatly but will not repair any damage that the green stuff has done.

Yup! The olive oil will help, may not make it go away completely but will help

Olive oil soak will help... Takes considerable time and will likely need an assist from a wood toothpick or rose thorn. Verdicare is faster. You may not like what removal leaves, but it is better than continued corrosion. Cheers, RickO

Olive oil? Wow, I've never heard of that cleaning remedy.

It's very common old school method used with ancients. They are all dug and need to be "curated".

It actually doesn't have to be olive oil. You just want non-polar solvents of which oil is a commom one.

The method is a little controversial. It really isn't any different than using something like hexane but is slower and less flammable.
