Found this penny in my change the other day and couldn’t tell if this was done while being minted or after/ please help cause I am at a complete loss here. Thank you in advance for your help.

No, your coin is not an error. It's commonly known as a dryer coin. It was damaged after it left the mint, called Post Mint Damage= PMD
This link might help explain it for you. Welcome to the forum.

No not a mint error. Just a damaged cent.

As mentioned, it was simply damaged after it left the mint, which is often noted as PMD for "post-mint damage". As an aside, if you think you may have a valuable coin then I would suggest that you do not hold it between your fingers as you are holding this coin. Do not do this-
Instead, hold it as if you were holding an egg up to a light to attempt to look through it. Good luck!
