Guess The CAC Results - ANSWERS POSTED

I just got results back from my first CAC submission. Except for truly exceptional one-offs it was also probably the last because I'm not a member so it was a bit of an ordeal getting everything arranged on my side. They were great though and extraordinarily accommodating and very nice throughout.
I submitted 24 coins. Overall, I fell two coins short of my acceptance goal but I'm still fairly pleased with the results. I won't post them all because that is way too many and I don't have TVs (yet) for some of them and it is impossible to grade from my pictures. Results up tomorrow afternoon.

Interesting...guesses all over the place so far. These were my pre-submission guesses. Results later today.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Ennimie, meanie, Minnie moe.
All but no 3&4.
Well, from photos it's basically just a guess, but here's my thoughts.
1 - no. early type is really tough, and the rim stuff around the date bugs me a bit.
2 - maybe. Nice look, but looks more like an XF40 to me.
3 - no. Looks "processed" to me, but it could just be the photo.
4 - yes
5 - no, same as 3
6 - no, again tough to sticker these
7 - no, just a guess, gold in general has a very low sticker rate
8 - yes, sure, why not.

This was of course a tough assignment from pictures only. Of the 24 I submitted I had 9 pass while I expected 11. At the same time I'm still pretty pleased because I did much better than expected on gold (although, of course, worse than expected on silver and copper) Thanks every one for playing!
VF25 - NO! I was really surprised about this one and my Indian Head $10. Head scratchers, I'm excited to review them again in hand with a fresh eye.

PR63 - NO Seated material is so tough. I also sent in all of my other seated material and did not get one sticker. A little surprised about the 25c & 50c proofs but so it goes.

MS63
I was shocked this stickered after upgrading recently. Really curious if it would have gold beaned as a 62.

MS62 NO Maybe light rub? I still like this a lot.

I didn't guess because on some of these it would have been a crapshoot.
However, the SLQ appears to have its surfaces rather burnt, so I would guess that CAC did not like the impaired luster for the grade. I doubt strike had anything to do with it unless you mean to say that it isn't truly an FH coin. The Liberty eagle is not shocking to me as a sticker at MS63 and it would have been a great gold sticker candidate at MS62.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Can't comment re the gold, as I don't collect it.
1) Not surprised the coin didn't sticker. It appears to be lightly cleaned; many Bust $s are. JA likes original surfaces.
2) Ditto re the SLQ. It looks original, but not attractive. Strike is not an issue, this date is hammered. The reverse is funky-looking.
3) Ditto re PF Trade $ - It has traces of dip rinse and JA usually doesn't like dipped coins.
Doesn't mean there's something wrong with any of these coins.

@lermish - how were you able to submit as a nonmember?
Non-members can support through CAC approved dealers.
wow, I was way off. I said yes to the eagle because I was shopping them recently, and it looked very good as a 63 compared to others I've seen. I've noticed that the grading on the liberty eagles tends to be fairly liberal, I've seen many ms64 examples that have a lot more contact marks than an average ms64 double eagle. I thought that the 1834 $5 might sticker, but the $2.5 I wrote off as "not a shot". Guess it got points for originality, and I still have much learning to do.

The learning never stops for any of us, particularly me:) I love that quarter eagle but I agree, I didn't think it would bean at a 45.
Oh cripes, I got every one wrong

That takes some crazy skill...

CAC is interesting in that they seem to like original coins, expect strong strikes on coins that came with strong strikes and seem to have some they like more than others. That said I was a bit surprised you Proof Trade Dollar didn't get a bean. It's a nice coin IMO.
You did really well on the gold coins. Standing Liberty quarters usually come white and yours is really, really dark. Even if the toning is original, it would be hard to see it being awarded a CAC.
