PCGS Holder in a Holder - Can it be done for Doilies, ATS black, etc.?

This is pretty cool!
I wonder if PCGS will start doing it for classic holders, like Doilies.
It would be cool to get some real grades on some sample slabs too!

That's a great ideas since in many cases the slab is worth more than the coin.

Curious if this ever came to be…would they assign an actual grade to the slab itself?
I'd love to see this coin (currently a Doily) regraded as a holder in a holder!
Like it.
Maybe a new division that grades slabs of all types. Pop reports and...

The more I think about this idea of slabbing a slab, I like it to try and preserve the integrity of the old holder. Some of the old holders seem fragile, and if putting it inside an oversized/mega slab would safeguard it from cracking & shattering & chipping, I think there would be a benefit to this service.
Regrading a coin in a doily which is then put inside an oversized slab seems like it would be confusing and not helpful to the coin market. Seeing different grades on the doily slab and the oversized slab wouldn’t be helpful to me.
For those interested, PCGS released a scaled image of the slab next to a typical collector or dealer-

Slabs within slabs.... The hobby continues to morph... Cheers, RickO
Maybe they will slab patches of cloth with vintage mustard stains, too.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Imagine trying to take a photo of a coin in an old scuffed slab inside a larger scuffed slab…

considering the values of the vintage holders, not a bad idea for protection as i presume damage to slabs does bring down their marketability and value.
