u1chicago giveaway of ex-braddick collection charmed Ike (Winner chosen)

Some might have seen these threads from our very own @braddick regarding his Ike. It's a nice common clad proof Ike with an unusual non cameo grade (unusual since most Ikes of this era are at least Cameo and the coin appears to have enough for the designation, so maybe it is just a mechanical error). Well what made things even more odd was that he auctioned it three times and none of the buyers ever paid (even when it sold for $10 with free shipping). When I saw that he listed it for a fourth time, I wanted to make sure that would be the charm. I bid "aggressively" and won the coin at 27.77. I made sure to pay for it too!

In one of the threads someone suggested (probably as a joke) that the coin should be given away on this forum. Well that seemed like a good idea to me so that is what will happen.
In order to qualify:
(1) post in this thread with the words "entry post" at the beginning of your post...only one entry post per username
(2) have a US shipping address
(3) [optional but recommended] tell us a story about a coin that was either jinxed or charmed
(4) I will pick a random winner at the end of the week (evening of 10/8/22 as the tentative date)

Never sold a coin for money (only a few small trades at shows) so I could have a bunch of charmed or jinxed coins and just don’t know it yet.

I have 3 jinxed coins. When I first started collecting Walkers I decided to attempt to collect AU coins in the small white holders ANACS. I got most of the 33-47 when I decided to move up to BU coins from 27 up and did so. I decided to sell the SWH AU58's and did all except 3, I listed them over and over with no bids. I finally dropped the price to be rid of them and they sold immediately. A week after the buyer received the 3 walkers they filed a return and their reason was the ordered them by accident. Oh well, I put them back in the box.
    Thanks for the game.

Hmmm…a jinxed coin…. Don’t have one to share and if I did, I would rid myself of its bad karma!

Edit: but if I win this one, what would I do? 🤣

According to https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1977-s-1/7437 there are only 7 of the non-CAM/DCAM 1977-S PR69 - and no PR70, so it's top pop in its label!

I carry a 1901 Half as a pocket piece and I don't know if it is jinxed or charmed because it seems to get misplaced every so often, even though it and my keys/wallet go into the exact same place every evening. Interestingly enough, it will eventually show itself...sometimes in the tray I keep my things in or in the floor where we walk past the tray numerous times per day. I found it once in a drawer in the kitchen.

Entry post but if I win give the coin to a YN of your picking.

My family, who's stretched across the country, used to send the same fruit cake as a Christmas gift. This lasted for decades and the damn cake never deteriorated. It just got hard as concrete lol. It was always fun wondering who would get it each year and when you got it, always a blast picking it's new recipient in December. Perhaps this Ike will be our forums version of the long lived fruit cake?

Entry post, a cool story with that coin. Can't think of any jinxed coins.

If this one is a jinx, someone will win it, the post office will lose it and it will show up a year later at the next door neighbor's house. :D

I actually had that happen with an EBay coin years ago. Showed up almost 2 years after I ordered it and paid for it. PayPal had long since done their refund, so I tried to send it back to the original owner and he just told me to keep it.

Perhaps a bit different, but I have a coin bowl in my room that I put change in. Sometimes, it just makes a random "ping" sound. I don't know why. I just tell myself it's haunted.

This one was jinxed. It spent three weeks traveling from Ohio to California to Georgia, back to California, and back to Georgia.

The envelope arrived, the medal didn't. Envelope was torn and the medal went missing. It was packed loose.
