Show a Distinctive Coin in Your Collection

I like to think that the coins I choose to include in my collection not only bring me joy, but might also interest someone else who sees it as well. What makes a coin distinctive from others that are more common? Is it strike, color, unusual surfaces, luster or some combination thereof?
I don't collect seated quarters but I do collect by type. When I saw this one, I thought now that would be a distinctive representative for the type. What do you think?

Yes, porous surfaces but check out the hair detail:
This AU dollar: not so much for its $ value, but it has no hairlines or other evidence of cleaning; pumpkin cartwheel luster under the toning, and no adjustment marks. Even the stickerman liked it enough to green bean it. Although no one can say for sure whether it's been cleaned in the past 225 years, it's way ahead of the dove grey stripped, recolored, hairlined AU coins usually offered for sale.

Commems and Early Type
This one is 'distinctive' - as labeled. Cheers, RickO

Have you ever seen this many adjustment marks?

While not a high grade piece, this one stands out in my collection for having remarkably nice surfaces for the grade in a tough variety/die marriage to find attractive examples.
I think this one, shows very keen distinction. Even though low graded. It has that certain pizzazz.
Cool thread

Deep toning.

Fun topic.
For me I like this 2 cent piece for the color (even though is in a genuine holder and did not striaight grade).

Here is a non-USA coin with a beautiful (IMHO) appearance but plenty of die polish. Oh BTW mintage of 12 (this is the PCGS pop census plate coin):

Well, these 2 are the ones that often get multiple people private messaging me asking if I’m willing to sell them whenever I post pictures of them. So I think that means they must be distinctive

Nice!

Not extremely common in MS 70.
Compared to the above posts, I don't have one that comes close!! But I do have this thing that's pretty distinctive.

Common coin, common grade (65), but uncommon color.
A key date, and you couldn’t ask for more in terms of eye appeal for an XF.
Awesome example @Wahoo554
Some very distinctive coins in this thread
This one is kind of distinctive, I think ... for it's overall look and for the reverse cracked die

Has to be my "Battling Grandma" coin from PCGS.

This is not nearly as exotic as so many posted here, but I have taken a liking over time to die-variety coins, particularly Lincoln cents. When I learned of this obscure one, I had to have it: Both a RPM (D over D) and a DDO (small date over large date), in the same coin!

This was recently submitted to our host- It is an Aussie 1919 I dot 1d... There is both obverse and reverse doubling which was acknowledged and confirmed by our host through the variety attribution service. While this fell short of being labelled a discovery coin, it seems that is what we have here.
It is distinctive in that it is currently the only known example that has been graded... I suspect there are others waiting to be found. Sort of interesting that the discovery was 103 years later which is surprising given the attention given to the date for those seeking the highly sought after 1919 I double dot 1d.
The grade is AU55 for those that are curious... best wishes in your numismatic endeavors
