I noticed that in recent auctions, coins in PCGS older blue holders have been getting more $$ than similar coins in the new Trueview holders. ANybody experienced this observation ? Is it the coin or the holder ?

Not familiar with the new TrueView holder. Do you have a photo?

OBHs came with TrueViews too. See all the different kinds of TrueViews here:

Since multiple generations of holders come with TrueViews, it might be good to go with the holder Generation number:

I can’t think of any good reason that the higher prices had anything to do with the holders. The results were almost certainly about the coins. Don’t draw conclusions from insufficient sample sizes.

I meant the NEWEST PCGS holder. Sorry, my fault.

@MFeld As always, a wealth of knowledge and experience. Thank you.
Pre-plus grade Blue label holders will sometimes sell for more than a gold shield because people are hoping for a upgrade to plus.

Got it. 2010 was the start of the plus grading.
I have never considered slab generations..... Just not interested in that aspect of coin collecting. To paraphrase a popular movie slogan "Show me the coin!!" Cheers, RickO
This coin, slab, c.2008-10ish has a true view. Run the cert number and you’ll see:
I rather like the simplicity of the holder and solid gasket…

Guess the OP means the newer pronged gasket secure plus yellow shield holders.
