Usually I like higher grade, and plan one day for an UNC example. However this example was presented to me today and I couldn’t resist. For the grade it has the most pleasant look!
What do you guys think?

25 all day long........nice pickup.
She's a beauty.
Wear of a 25 details of a 15, net at 20 but honest and so much better than 95% of the examples out there including mine which is a humble OGH G6

Wow … very difficult to find in nice chocolate brown PCGS VF. There are VFs out there, but not as nice as this one. Beautiful example!

What not to love @asheland ? It’s more than perfect for the grade 🥰
Everyone wants to own one of the elite coins of a series. It's only a matter of having enough money to attach your name to one because such coins are readily available.......any time anyone chooses to make that plunge. But one needs to choose wisely so not to get stuck with an example that becomes a hard sell.
Asheland has chosen wisely with a bold example in strike, grade and eye appeal for this date.
Reminds me of a time when a dealer thought he was playing a joke with my brother and I over a 1909-S VDB. When we approached his table, he shoved such an encapsulted coin into our faces and quoted a price much lower than its supposedly attached value to the grade on the label. But than he pulled the coin back quickly and said, oh wait, let me check the price sheet. And than he would go on and say, oh, you should have jumped on my initial offer, I under quoted an offer. I looked at the coin and showed him how the coin is overgraded, more of a G or VG than a F grade that it would be a hard sell. The guy didn't want to hear that, wasn't listening and so we moved on.
But the OP's coin is very nice for the grade. Congrats.

Wow! That is a really nice example for the grade.
@asheland ... Excellent acquisition of a great key coin. Well done!! Cheers, RickO
A very wholesome example of a key date IHC! Congrats @asheland
It's all about what the people want...
I agree with Bill, wholesome 25 every day - send to CAC!
I agree, as wholesome as they come.
Tom
A nice pickup for sure. She is a beauty that presents better than the grade.

I've already decided, should I buy one in MS63 BN, the grade I really wanted originally, I would still keep this one as it is so pleasant.
Nothing wrong with having a few 1877s...

Love it!
That one's very attractive and desirable too, you can tell by all the comments that many of us would consider it to be a welcome addition to our collections.
My gut reaction was pretty immediate when I first saw this one. I didn’t even know he submitted it. I quickly was drawn to it and sealed the deal.
I appreciate the comments indeed! They validate what I was initially thinking. 👍

Very nice example, your gut didn't lie to you. I really love Crypto's OGH G6 example too -- the very situation I described when considering whether to put together Indian Heads in an album or not, I'd choose to leave my higher grade ones in slabs, but would enjoy making a G-VG album set. But if my 1877 was Crypto's, I'd have to leave it in the OGH -- agh! Decisions.
Indeed that’s a nice example. 👍

The 77 remained a "hole" in my first National Coin Album.
Finally got a slabbed one a couple years ago.
I always think of the 1877 as ...the... Indian Head Cent.
way cool, congrats ashland
