Library of Coins Peace Dollar Album
Placed the very last coin in this album today, the 24S. It feels good to complete the album but I will miss hunting for these little beauties. I started this album years ago with the intent of filling it with easy to find circulated pieces. Boy was I wrong about the easy to find part. I had no idea how difficult it would be to fill all these holes with honest circulated coins that don't have big issues underneath the dirt and crust. These coins aren't without issues but I've done my best to try to find examples that don't have big issues and/or intentionally caused issues. The easiest holes to fill, by far, were the last three. The album had three spots left after the entire run of coins so I filled them with blast white MS examples to display the reverse of each mint. I like the contrast between the crusty circulated coins and the last three dripping with luster. Also I though after the obverse hogging nearly the entire show it'd be nice to give the reverse a bit of the lime light.
The majority of the coins were acquired raw. I cracked out the three reverse examples in the end of the album and four of the key date circulated coins. Sorry for so many photos but it's a lot of coins so... I made them kind of small in hopes they'd load quickly for you.
I do love these old Library of Coins albums. It's impressively heavy in hand. These albums are so small physically yet it has about 20oz of silver in it at this point lol.

Great accomplishment my coin brother 👍
Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your extrafine pickin'.
I bought a Dansco Peace $ album somewhat recently but have not decided what (if anything) I want to do with it. So good job picking out what you wanted to do and sticking with it.

Not a Peace Dollar collector, but those are nice. BTW, is there truly a difference between reverses other than mintmarks? Didn't think so, but as I said I've never even read a book on the subject.

Really nice!! I might consider doing something similar.
I also really like the Library of Coins holders.
I am near to finishing up a Washington Quarter LoC holder. The copyright is 1958 and I think it is one of the early ones as the 1958 holes have dates but no mintages, and the rest of the post-58 holes have no labeling at all.
Thanks for posting your Peace dollars

Congratulations!
That’s really a beautifully matched set!
I might imagine that it is quite difficult to locate similarly toned examples in this series too!
Quite an accomplishment!👍👍👍

Who needs slabs? Look better in that.
Good work! That album looks to be in decent shape, also one of the latest that they had produced given the 1968 copyright. Not bad for a 50+ year old book.

Very nice set! I like that they all have a similar look and that you used unc coins for mint mark in the three undated holes.

It looks like you had a great time on a fantastic project. The coins are well-matched and I'd be very happy with an album set like that.
Congratulations on your dedicated work.
Nice collection, also have the Peace $ LOC album. I do like their compactness and printed mintage #. The reverses was a great idea, always wondered what to do with the 3 extra holes in the album.
Comment above on copyright date made me look at mine, 1959. They hold up well.
@Cladiator.... Now that is a very nice album of big silver coins. Congratulations on completion. I once considered doing a Peace dollar series..... Never got the album, but did get some coins. Cheers, RickO
Congratulations. That’s a great looking collection. 😁
🎶 shout shout, let it all out 🎶
congratulations on completing a well matched set !!

Oh, my goodness, that's a beautiful set! Much nicer than the typical collection of uncirculated coins. That's exactly the look I'd strive for if I were collecting Peace dollars. The MS coins are a nice addition as well.
I'll be looking at these periodically all day long. Congrats on doing it your way and building a nice collection.
I'm working on the assumption there's not.
Nice set! I am trying to complete a comparable set of Walking Halves - the 1940s dates are remarkably difficult to find in nice, original XF/AU. Have had more success with the earlier dates so far.
Agree, lot of the 40's that weren't MS met the melt bucket when silver went above $20.
This type of project isn’t in my wheelhouse yet, but I really like what you’ve accomplished. Extremely attractive and just a great collection to show and tell others. So impressive.

Super nice set! Those albums are among my favorites, well made and attractive. I've never seen a Peace Dollar album, but I'm working on a few other Library of Coins albums, like buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes and standing liberty quarters.

I like the Library of Coins albums, I only discovered them in recent years and have albums for Barber Halves.
Great job putting that set together.

I love your set.
Must have been quite the undertaking to put together a set so beautifully matched.
Great job.
BTW that 22-D you are using for mint mark is absolutely gorgeous!

Congratulations. Nice set.
The 1935-S has a 4-ray version. The OP set has an example of it.
Nicely displayed set BTW!
