...been a long wait.

I've had this gold Ethiopian 200 Birr for about 10 years and finally got it slabbed...

...love the Amharic writing on the obverse and Abyssinian lion and double date on the reverse.

Very neat coins. It's unusual that the reverse has "SOCIALIST ETHIOPIA".

No weight/purity. Krause lists it at 7.13g (.2063 oz), .900 AU, 298 minted.

Searched the pcgs # but I didn't see anything in coinfacts.
So a internet search of 'gold Ethiopian 200 Birr' and found this site.
Interesting that this site identifies the obverse as lion facing left.
