UPDATE: All items now removed, seller has no items up for sale.
Maybe I'm late to the party but here's an ebay auction that the instant I saw it screamed fake.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/354263471915
and here's where it came from:

So now we have to worry about fake errors.

The fake errors have been around for a while.
Seller has a second one listed.

Check the sellers sold items.
I have to admit, that's pretty cool.
Well, as long as the fake errors look like that, we don't have to worry much about them.

well it is a pretty scarce error, even by chinese standards.
the obv rotation doesn't match the reverses. to say that is not common is putting it mildly.

Keep posting these with pictures. These fakes are easy for experienced collectors, but the new collectors can easily dump funds on them. Every bit helps. Cheers, RickO
Oh, reported as well.
bob
Both reported
if you are going to take on a multi billion dollar biz like the fake coin biz you need to step your game up to a much better level then it is
reporting isn't going to do anything they can replace that loss with 50 more

fwiw, the links are appreciated but if you REALLY want to turn the reports up a notch, if you do, post the link to the report page so us viewers can just go straight there. fwiw.

He already scammed someone for $565 for a different fake:
He sold an 1893s Morgan for under $600. Can't see the pics but can be pretty certain it was not real.

Disgusting, to bad bidders can’t be notified before they pay
MIKE B.
I've wanted to warn bidders a number of times... Alas no buyer to buyer alerting system I can see how it could be abused though. Would be tricky to implement.

We used to be able to do just that or we could report the auction to Judy in Utah. She'd take care of it no problemo.

becoming the high bidder can reduce the amount of successful sales until ebay can be alerted. i have a couple accounts that are somewhat idle i use for this purpose with false info so the sellers can't tell whom it is.
the people around these parts are so adamant about reporting, very few made it to hammer time.

The Chinese fakemasters have always been making "fake errors". Mules, wrong dates, spelling errors, all are commonly seen on the cheaper fakes. The street hawkers who sell these things in the markets will, if you point out the "errors" on their coins, immediately launch into a sales spiel about how rare and valuable such error coins must be (and bump their prices up accordingly).
The coin in the OP is merely a less subtle example.

Amazing how much time a person puts in a make/sell a fake! They could be well off if they put that same time into an an honest endeavour. I know, wishful thinking.

It’s free pickup. Send the info to the secret service and see if they will do anything. I doubt it since they aren’t trying to use the coin as money.
The OP coin looks almost photoshopped...

The fake error was pulled and the seller doesn't have anything else for sale now. Maybe somebody from the forum's still has a friend at E-Bay.
If that that's the case, I say "Bravo"
MIKE B.
I think, like most crooked endeavors, if a type of coin has a greater than average value, there will be counterfeit copies made and I think that will be found to be across the board.
