Gumby.....was that something that you put in the basement and forgot about or something else?....... The reason I ask is this;....40 years ago I bought a house on a property that adjoined my property that I was living on. I moved into the house.....Then I went into the crawl space beneath the air conditioner to change the filter etc. I couldn't believe what I found!!!!!.....There were stacks of large cents in all four corners!....Nothing real valuable, all 1830/40's....over 50 coins!......I couldn't believe it!....What a bonanza for a coin collector!!!!....... Also, my cousin moved into a house many years ago and when he was replacing the old flooring he found a stash of $100 dollar bills under the old flooring.......Probably put there in the 1940/50's........You never know!
P.S. I want to add that I would have returned the coins to the previous owner but that was impossible. He was dead. Murdered in that house. Spooky.

@Hydrant I put it down there a long time ago. I was in the basement looking for my race car driver autographs. All obtained personally by me. Found some of them.

Yea, Gumby, I know where you're coming from.....About 10 years ago I was cleaning out the garage and opening old boxes. It was great!......My collection of baseball memoribilia! Long ago forgotten. And......so, so many coins that I took out of circulation when I was a kid!.....But the best part?........European coins dated from the 1880's/ 1940's... And Japanese coins! I couldn't figure out why I had them........Then I figured it out. My uncles who served in Europe and the Pacific during WWII saved them. I was a little boy coin collector so they gave them to me.......I don't remember but it's the only explanation I can come up with......

I have boxes that have not been opened in twenty years or more.. Have no idea what I may find in some of them. A few have notes on the outside, but a lot do not. One day... Darn, I say that way too often... Cheers, RickO
