The exquisite eye appeal of this delightful slider (which looks just like the TV in hand) far exceeded toned Gem Mint State examples I've seen over the years and instantly made my wallet wiggle.

This one is the best I can submit from my own collection. It's super lustrous in hand and I think it's pretty strong for the grade overall.
Here are two favorites:
A few favorites that I feel are on the upper end of AU-58
It could very well be an UNC that's heavily toned and weakly struck.

British King Edward II was not much of a king, but I had to go after this one when I saw it in an auction. It is graded AU-58.
They usually look like this.
I have a few AU58's, it's a grade I enjoy and can usually afford. This is one of my favorites for the grade.

1709E* shilling that came out of a Goldberg sale in a 58 slab. A no-brainer in this condition as they are usually fairly grotty.
Despite a slight loss of hair strand detail, the coin ticks all the right boxes for being centrally struck, it has no weak areas and doesn't have any adjustment marks - which are a recurring problem from this period. A comparison with the only piece graded higher at 62 (from CNG Keystone 5) amply demonstrates these points.
Good timing on the thread, just got my hands on this one today. It's got a gold "WINGS" sticker on it, what's the story/history behind those stickers? Should I leave it on it? Does it add a premium like a CAC sticker or is it just a gimmick?
Story goes anyone who touches your newp has to buy you chicken wings
Seriously the sticker is respected and worth leaving on the slab.
I still cannot believe got a 58, but given the knee of the eagle maybe they are right. I love this medal.

I sold my PCGS MS63BN (or 64? can't remember right now) example a couple years ago and kept this...

Edited to add:
This was the first time I ever bid remotely on my cell phone as I got stuck in traffic while the auction was ending. I pulled into a Dominio's Pizza parking lot to secure winning this and then left with a Victory Pie

My numismatic eye was going for a 58+. I think it speaks to a change in standard at PCGS. They seem to be following NGC's approach of net grading coins with just a touch of cabinet friction (often on one side) as low MS.
8 Reales Madness Collection
Seems reasonable if it’s truly cabinet friction on one side only
What’s your thought ?
