1878-CC Morgan: what’s up with the mint mark?

This looked strange to me when I got my new loupe, so I decided to post on here to see what you guys know. Is it like filled die or something like that? Legit looks like 2 Ds once you flip it up side down. On stacks pictures they looked fine, just in hand they don’t.

I did not try to identify the VAM of your 78cc but go to this link (Morgan and peace VAM's) for the 1878cc and click on a couple of the VAMs and the cc looks similar to yours.
Try VAM 2B , 4 , 6... they all have a CC similar to yours. Again didn't look for your specific VAM.

1880 used it as well, if you are referring to the small CC with the PAF and SAF. not sure if the 80-cc comes with a long nock but i think it unlikely. dies from 78-80 are quite incestuous.
