🥰 NEWP ….. a Lustrous Beauty as they stated ❤️

ParadisefoundParadisefound Posts: 8,588 ✭✭✭✭✭

I’ve been looking for a clean example; Liberty with sweet expression sporting her visible curls ….. accompanied by a nice feathered Eagle 🥰

Voila! Truly a Cherry 🍒 pick because it was realized at the starting bid of $665 with no reserve 🤗

Common yet a lovely example with “nice luster that flows from the edges to the fields with original dirt adheres; testifying to its originality”

Let’s see your ladies

    Very nice pickup!

    Is the reverse misaligned/rotated?

Looks rotated about 20°. I imagine that's rather common for the type.

Yours appears to have retained significant frost, which is quite unusual for this series.

Congratulations on your nice new acquisition.

On a related subject, you wrote “… it was realized at the starting bid of $665 with no reserve”. On a practical basis, a minimum starting bid is a reserve, as the coin wont sell if that minimum bid (reserve) isn’t met.

I see it now; I got confused with others where minimum is not met kind of auction 🤔

Very nice, Paradisefound. I wanted one to show my family what an (almost) newly struck bust half looked like, won this in one of Sheridan's auctions:

Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

I do a few things well--a couple of them quite well. Taking coin pictures isn't one of them.

@Paradisefound... Very nice acquisition.... What did your Mother say when you showed her the coin??? Cheers, RickO

🤔 Mom is amazed by how the coin would survived over 2centuries; she also said $$$ is a month of cost of living to my brother and his family in Bora Bora 😬
Mom doesn’t involve with my financial so I don’t hear the last part too often 🤗

Uh, I hate to be the skunk at this particular garden party, but if this individual continues to purchase coins that look like this one (“originality”?), there are going to be some nasty surprises down the road…

That appears to be the extent of the CBHs I currently own. :'(

I don't count RE halves as being part of the CBH series, so the handful of those that I own won't attend this party.

It’s been my experience that those who respond to comments with ad hominem attack have little in the way of substantive points to make. My (substantive) suggestion would be as follows: Image your coin, and send the photos to Warren Mills at Rare Coins of New Hampshire or John Agre at Coinraritiesonline (highly respected dealers with substantial knowledge of this particular series); ask for their forthright opinion of your coin, its desirability for the vast majority of collectors and dealers, and - specifically - its degree of originality. I’m not presupposing anything, but it is my strong belief that, subsequently, you will no longer seek out coins such as this. A “bargain” is rarely one now… or, ever…

I bought coins that I like not even keys at more times than not ….. but for sure not driven by the bargain idea.
Don’t expect a ROI on my collection but rather a pure enjoyment ☺️
