They seem to be getting even more testy and running in packs; makes this site hard to take at times.
I know, I should just ignore this stuff but it is difficult and probably just not in my nature- I apologize to the genuine Members here working to make this an educational and relevant numismatic page but it just isn't for me.

I appreciate the feedback but the responses that would make a difference would be from the hosts on the best way to handle this than just ignore it. I consider this a professional forum...
The person you placed on ignore shows up as a shadowy name and makes it easy to monitor them.
There’s a member here who I appreciate their input but can’t handle the gazillion posts on the humor thread.
Others have mentioned it directly with no luck. Therefore, I lose because I miss out on the good stuff. 😉🙀🦫

I just ignore the trolls.... Unless they get nasty. Then I flag/report. Does not happen often, most are just an irritation. Cheers, RickO
The problem is one of moderation coverage. If CU had some members they trusted with moderation powers who would be here over nights/weekends a lot of the nonsense would be blunted before it gets ridiculous.

To OP, seems if you have a beef with these posts you should talk the the hosts via the 'Flag' button than calling them out here - it kinda makes you the same as the ones you want to call out..............
Unfortunately the 'ignore' doesn't shade out initial posts, only replies. I also think an extended 'ignore' list would be a time saving feature.

They want attention. Good or bad doesn't matter to them. My goal is to pay them none of mine; I'm not always successful.
I'm thinking the majority of these are coming from one or maybe two troll people. One gets whacked, the two more pop up. The patterns are so similar.

That's right. There's a good read book out there about don't sweat the small stuff. Regard ad hominem attacks on anyone, not just oneself, as coming from small stuff. Resorting to ad hominem says more about the person delivering the ad hominem than it does about the one on the receiving end of the ad hominem.

Ignore the trolls. If I open a thread from a new member and it’s a bunch of garbage I stop reading it. I’ve wasted a few minutes, I move on, and it’s not the end of the world
However keep in mind that everyone on this forum had to have a first post so it’s a bad idea to label every new poster as a troll.
I have that little book somewhere and used to flip a few pages 😬 but it’s all in my head N heart now ☺️

It's so easy to ban a troll, why not just ignore the post that bothers you. Trust this, if they rile no one up, then they will move on to aggravate someone else's forum. I mean 0 replies. JMO

I'm not trying to wheedle out of anything. I'm just stating a fact. There's a forum member who dislikes me and, for a while, he was putting an LOL on every post I made. There used to be a disagree button. When that went away, LOL became the replacement.
But, as I said in my prior post, I can't know the intent of the LOL. I also don't know that it matters.

Well, I was reported for “insulting” a troll, a troll that was attacking other members. Then I was insulted by a member who then called me a troll. And then that member took it a step further and started a thread which pointed me out to be a troll. You don’t think that would cause some hard feelings? Like me or not, I will defend myself. My intentions were good.
I don't blame you for being mad at the OP. As I said, I do not like or approve of this thread. However you're lashing out at everyone. I know it's hard to ignore some of these curmudgeons. However, I'm quite certain that you can't refute a post about your insults by hurling more insults.
