Always make it a point to check the $30 each Morgan tray at my LCS whenever I go. I’ve definitely found some nice ones before but this is probably the best one I’ve found so far. Thoughts?

IMO, it looks like lead. It may be your white balance on your camera.

It’s a shame that we have think like that and always have the “counterfeit demon” in the back of our minds, but that’s the way things are these days. The Chinese counterfeiters have taken the joy out of junk box sorting.
The coin looks real to me. Given that local dealers are charging $28 for culls, this is a fair buy.

Wasnt me, but several years ago, the shop across town apparently bought a roll of 1888-O Morgans from a guy in the military that inherited it and some other stuff. This shop was conviently right off base. Anyway, guy comes over to my shop and shows me an 1888-O Scarface he just bought out of the UNC morgan Basket for 40 bucks at the other shop. I said man what a find. I went over to the shop to investigate and come to find out, just what he said the shop dealer just bought a UNC roll, opened them and tossed them into his UNC Morgan basket and let a big one slide out the door. It graded Ms-61 at pcgs by the way.
Just remembered this one also, same shop, one of my customers was over there looking at the junk morgan basket and pulled out a 95-o In g-vg . This shop has long since gone

I just picked this up on Friday for 19.5X Face.
