It's been a pleasure to participate on this forum with you the last 15 years. I always hear folks say that upon retirement the first thing to do is to start sleeping in. BS! I get up earlier just to get a jump on the day's events. Enjoy and stay well.
Congrats, there is life after work. A new adventure is just beginning for you and those around you. Stay healthy and be safe. All the best in Peace. Roy
@UtahCoin.... Congratulations on your retirement and future plans. Always enjoyed your inputs. I retired in 2008... and I have never had a boring day. Not even a boring hour. Have fun and keep in touch. Cheers, RickO
Tracing genealogies is always fascinating, I don't know why it has to be so hard, plus it gives the kids more to live up to. I have a friend who is a direct descendent of the Aldens of Plymouth as well as the Adams and King John. We were told that our family was descended from Little John of Robin Hood legend, but no way to trace that. Royals had the lineages and sometimes not so savory pasts.
Best of luck to you, traveling is a great way to spend retirement (and even before!), especially if you are able to get around easily. Do what is fun for you and your family!
Congratulations on your decision to retire. I wish you the best, enjoy the time now available to spend with your wife and family. Life will be different, but much better.
I don't know your age, but I retired last year at 63 and it was the best decision I ever made. I thought I would have all this time available but that just is not the case, busier than ever here.
Take care and best wishes!
"I used to enjoy selling on eBay, but over the last 5 or so years eBay has sucked the fun (and profitability) out of selling there. The coin shows obviously took a big hit the last couple of years with Covid. And finally, I'm just not having fun anymore."
Same here, I sold about 90% of my stuff over the last year and about a month ago I ended all my ebay listings after 19 years on the site. I may still dabble a bit in the future and will still be here on the forum.

"It's time my wife and I start enjoying each other and spending time (and our children's inheritance) traveling. We plan on spending many months in Great Britain learning more about my 14th Great Grandfather, King James 4th."
Do it now or you may not do it later.
Wishing you all the best and hope we see you here when you have time.
"Mild Cognitive Impairment" is that the same as what I have "Sometimers" ? Sometimes I remember and Sometimes I don't.
I also at 69 retired last year and wish I did it sooner. Enjoy the stress reduction and live each day to the fullest.
Best wishes for a long and enjoyable retirement.

Try going with eating blueberries on a regular basis. Blueberries are great brain food. I'm not joking. Try blueberries before you get talked into trying those expensive memory improving drugs advertised on TV. Fresh, frozen, no matter. Make blueberry smoothies for yourself and significant other. Or just have a few in a bowl on a daily basis. The improvement you will highly likely quickly see in your cognitive ability will delight you.

Do what makes you happy. You sound like you have a good plan in place. I hate to see someone leave the table but only you know what's right for you. I've slowed down a lot but I enjoy it too much to completely quit and sell off. I worked too damn hard to achieve it and I do enjoy it a lot. Please don't be a stranger around here. Best of luck to you.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍
Enjoy your well deserved retirement @UtahCoin!
Retirement is great and I highly recommend it for family reasons particularly.
It takes a while to really get used to not having to get up and going to work each day. The week I retired it took me until Thursday I recall.

I think the time has come for me to call it quits. This is not an easy decision, I've spent the last 60 years involved one way or another in coins.

It's been a fun ride, I've learned a lot, and hopefully imparted a little knowledge and humor along the way. I'll still be around haunting the boards here that I have enjoyed for many years.
As Bob Hope once said, Thanks for the memories!
