ANA Members When Did You Join

With the ANA show a week away, I was just thinking how many of us on the forum
are members. I joined in 1982 after going to the Cincinnati show in 1981. 40 year member.
When did you join? How many summer and mid winter ANA shows have you attended?
Any special moments you care to share. Ever been to the headquarters in Colorado Springs?

I've joined two or three times over the decades and let my membership lapse two or three times (as it is currently), so I don't remember. I'm too cheap to cough up the funds for a Life membership.
I joined in 1980. I hope to be around to get my 50 year pin.

1976 - 4 years to go to the Big 5-0. I've been to numerous Summer shows over the years. However, only a couple of Mid-Winter shows and only if they're within easy driving distance for a quick day trip. The Mid-Winter shows always have slim pickings for me and are usually a waste of time.

I have joined a couple of times, lapsed again (much like LordM). Will join again. Never been to an ANA show though. Cheers, RickO
2019 as they offered a free year to YN. Been a paying member since then.

I joined in the 1980's, then took about a 25 year break (from the whole hobby). Joined again when it was required by my collection insurance provider. I don't live near the convention or the museum so the tangible benefits to me are kind of weak. I probably should support them just for the good they do for the hobby, but there's a limited number of charities one can support.

1962 getting my 60 year pin this time. This will be my 55th ANA convention, the first in 1962 at Detroit.
I joined as a Life Member in 2006.
I joined in the ANA in 1969 and became a life member in 1971. I proudly received my 50- year medal at the 2019 ANA show. I have been to every summer ANA show since 1970. I think I have only been to 4 mid-winter shows.
2014 and I've never been to an ANA show or the headquarters.

Joined in 1978. First ANA was 1980. Next was Baltimore 1985 and only missed 1989 through today. Been to Colorado Springs a few times. Well worth the trip especially in conjunction with the Summer Seminar.

1996, let it lapse, then again in 2002. Converted to life member in 2004.
LM in 1985.
LM 1990.
Off and on about 6 times through the years.
Joined in 1995. The ANA owes me a couple cocktails and light hors d'oeuvres, since my 25th was during the cancelled show.

I was a member for a several years starting around 2005 when I used to live in Charlotte. Mrs_spud and I were in the Charlotte Coin Club and did a bunch of stuff to help set up and run the ANA Money Show in Charlotte in 2007. Mrs_Spud was the Secretary of the Club and did all kinds of stuff, I was just there to help with Little stuff. But I let my
ANA Membership lapse when I moved out to California in 2008.

First time ... 1987 I think. Pretty sure I was a member through 1993 or 1994 (would have to go back through my back issues of the Numismatist)
Second time ... 2001 or 2002, I think. This time was about a decade. Again, I would have to go through those boxes of Numismatist magazines.
Last time. Last year at the WFOM. I know this. Just renewed two weeks ago.

I am a life member in other organizations but didn't do that for the ANA. Probably cost more in the renewals. Don't think I joined until the early 1990s and lapsed here and there. I usually rejoin when I need to set up for an ANA show. Never have gone to their HQ.
@Mr_Spud I remember that show well. Bought several books from Wizard Supply.
The day I was there the rain was relentless. A well run show.
Originally joined in [about] 1975 or so.
Divorce, re-married and let things lapse.
Rejoined last week.

I joined at the Baltimore Show in 2009. Unfortunately lapsed off and on, but back on for the last few years. Baltimore Show was the only one I have been to.

I joined in 1977 when I was in high school. My family had just moved to a small town that didn't have a coin shop. I joined again in 1988. And in 1997 to attend Summer Seminar. Life member now, they will be giving me my 25-year pin at the convention this year

Not a member here 😕 being an ocean away from the Mainland.
I bet it’s a LOT of FUN going through the bourse ☺️
Joined in 1999. Converted to Life Member a few years later. I have been to Summer shows in 2006 and 2017, Spring shows in 2012 and 2022. I have been to the Headquarters in CS dozens of times.
