Does Anyone Remember This 68-D Kennedy Thread?

The problem is, I don't remember if it was this forum or another. Some guy posted this half looking for answers. I made a copy of the picture, now I can't find the thread to see the results.

This is the first that I have seen this coin.
To me, it looks like man made damage (PMD) but will be interested in what the pros say.
Would love to see a picture of the reverse.

Kennedys are my quest...
For the life of me, I just can't remember where I saw the initial thread. I've been searching here and other forums. And I believe the OP posted the rev. I didn't make a copy of it, I should have!! My first thought, it was struck thur a feeder finger.

i'm not saying it wasn't posted here but i don't recall seeing that one offhand. it seems like it would be something that would kinda stick with ya if a person had seen it previously.
can you time reference when you last saw it. this year, last year, 5 years ago etc? the image should have an edit date as well.
The blob of differently colored metal is what intrigues me. I don't recall the thread myself.

I agree, this image isn't one you would quickly forget. You guys would have remembered it. It may have been another forum. I'm thinking it was within the last 6 month to a year.

Just for grins I searched these boards. Nothing came up.

Do you happen to have a photo of the reverse?
No I don't, sorry.

I do not recall seeing it before. Appears to be Mint made, but I cannot guess how.
Did a few image searches in different search engines using the whole image and just the possible strike through area... nothing.
I'm darn good with the image finding...doesn't seem to be a publicly available image anywhere at the moment.

I certainly do not remember seeing that coin here. I would likely have opened a thread concerning a Kennedy half. Damage of that magnitude would make an impression for sure.
Cheers, RickO
Thanks for checking guys. I checked the NGC board, CoinTalk and coin community. I'm wondering if it was on CONECA or something called COIN Help U Community?
I'll keep checking. Thanks.

I'm regularly on a number of forums and usually remember interesting things but cannot recall that coin
I'll speculate. Assuming there isn't any evidence of PMD from the rev, Struck through a piece of equipment hardware. The "brass" piece may have been the remnants of pin that held it in place (the circular protrusion on the left of the strike through may be were the pin was on the hardware). I'm happy with that guess.
i did a reverse google image search and the full image turned up a bunch of error coins, not even kennedys lol and the close-up i posted showed a bunch of transverse views of skulls cut open with and without contents, so ya.
Do not feel I have ever viewed that coin before. As previously stated, not one I would forget.
