Trade Dollar Proof Set in Original Holder (the 1884 and 1885 was sold separately, unfortunately)...

Love seeing coins like this - in their original holders from 30+ years ago. They will soon be graded by PCGS.
The same collection had the 1884 and 1885, but they sold as separate lots.

Very impressive, but they look better in PCGS holders.
Wow. Unless sold as a raw set once the coins are submitted for grading it’s virtually impossible for the set to remain intact.
That's nothing short of amazing!
Very nice thanks for sharing.
That’s an amazing collection and holder!
Imagine if the holder had the 1884 and 1885?
I wasn’t familiar with The Worrell Family collection but quite a catalog from a Superior Auction in 1989.

I assume pcgs will make a special holder to keep them all together.

But Capital Plastics will!
Appears there was more than one sale thru Superior as one was noted by @wrighty above. This was sold in the 9/28/1993 sale Lot 1323

That is really cool! It must have been a special order holder - I can't imagine there would have been enough demand to produce more than one...

I am not a big fan of proof coinage, but I like the toned one.

Nice.
The Trade (1873-1883) proof set is still a pretty approachable one. Can probably still assemble a complete set with average prices (each) of $3K, $4K, and 5K for MS63, MS64, and MS65.
That is a very impressive set of Trade Dollars..... I had not seen a set like that before, and in Proof no less. Cheers, RickO
I was at this sale and actually remember this set. There were so many cool coins available at auctions back then. In the 80's thru the mid 90's almost every Stacks sale had random original proof set(s) from 1859-1915. Maybe only one set,
or a nice run of them.
