1921 D Walker. eBay looks funny to me

I’m not the best when it comes to Walkers but this coin doesn’t look right to me. Am I wrong?

I don’t like it. The lightly porous surfaces and slightly fuzzy devices would prompt me to steer clear of this one. The NGC look alike grading service slab offers no reassurances.

Not one I would bother with... Nothing screams fake, but not at all interesting and fourth tier grading... Cheers, RickO

    Looks fake to me.
Rims, surfaces, mushy details, and date all look wrong.
But I suppose the owner has a story that it was found with a metal detector near a Super Fund chemical waste site, and then judiciously soaked and scrubbed with Drano before submitting to this legit and beyond reproach tpg…,

I believe the coin is genuine, but it is not one I would want. Just too many problems.

It appears that some of the wonky texture/porosity may be coming from the surface of the slab.
It looks worn, weird with an old cleaning and perhaps dipped out. Might be fake but doesn’t scream with evidence of such.

That coin does not look genuine to me,

base of 2 is off for one

Looking more closely at the date, to my eyes, it’s not a glaring discrepancy but the mushyness and porosity are raising more red flags. Looks more off to me now after comparing photos.
Here’s a comparison of the sellers photo with something borrowed from the trueview archives.
